Invigorated Supercharged August 11, 2018 Share August 11, 2018 Looks like they finally tune the engine to VES neutral?it does state ves B on their pricelist. ↡ Advertisement
therock Supersonic August 11, 2018 Share August 11, 2018 Power output is the same so does not look like tuning of engine Take more things out - lighter and smaller wheels for example.. less go slow bits like spoilers which make the car less efficient. Many of the things on a Corolla are locally installed anyway.. the OMV is pretty high as it is..

therock Supersonic August 12, 2018 Share August 12, 2018 Price didn't drop by 10k though They didn't drop the price when they shifted the production from Japan to Thailand either.. good company to own shares in..
RogerNg_185295 6th Gear August 12, 2018 Share August 12, 2018 They didn't drop the price when they shifted the production from Japan to Thailand either.. good company to own shares in..Because they knew it could sell well. Thats was in the good years. Now I dun know whether still can sell well or not
Invigorated Supercharged August 12, 2018 Share August 12, 2018 Price didn't drop by 10k thoughthey may be waiting for the new batches with different emission levels, specs and omv? maybe a good idea to wait for new pricing first as pricing is relatively high now without ves.
Camrysfa Turbocharged August 26, 2018 Share August 26, 2018 The eco is not available for 2018 Nowadays no one bothers it's Thai or jap made. Otherwise altis how to be bestseller Think the Thais are already quite ok in assembling cars after so many years doing it. Below is pic of 2019 Corolla in Canada market. Will this be the one to replace the current model in SG? BM is tight lipped on when the current model will be phased out.
therock Supersonic August 26, 2018 Share August 26, 2018 Second facelift? Looks like more of the same.. Not a bad thing, and the faithful fans will still use it as a reason to change to it. But some active safety features and a more competitive price tag will help. I don't think there is any news of a new engine, so the current model will need to labor on..

This is actually the same model we are getting as Altis, just with different nose and rear end treatment. This design is for American markets so we will not see this design here. Latest Corolla has been spied testing. Probably a totally new model will introduce late next year or in 2020.

It gives me the impression that the front of the car is an afterthought and not coherent to the design of the car.
Zxcvb Turbocharged August 26, 2018 Share August 26, 2018 North America Yaris, Corolla, Camry is always different from Asia and Japan version cos their Toyotas are manufactured in US or Canada production plants.
therock Supersonic August 26, 2018 Share August 26, 2018 It gives me the impression that the front of the car is an afterthought and not coherent to the design of the car.Something for you to consider in your car hunt:If you change cars pretty quickly and regularly, then you may want something flash or stylo.. maybe the latest sleek design. But when you have to use it for five to ten years, I feel that you also want to see how practical, reliable the car is and will it meet your needs in future. My car looks like a bread van ... but it’s easy to climb into which matters for me and my elderly mum. It can carry stuff, is safe and gives a decent mix of economy and power. Sonehow I think there’s some similarities with you there so maybe some food for thought? Cheers :)
Camrysfa Turbocharged August 27, 2018 Share August 27, 2018 Yes, the above view is practical. For my case I am contemplating the latest Kia Cerato. But looking at how fast Kia cars change in SG, those who buy will soon be driving an outdated model.
Invigorated Supercharged September 6, 2018 Share September 6, 2018 Price didn't drop by 10k thoughnew pricelist is out and standard model is selling 89k without ves, seems to be a reasonable price for a car with about 20k omv.

They probably felt the heat from the Koreans who have been robbing them of their sales.
