Hi All, i think i met some dumb ass car dealer trying to b funny & tell me 159 is sensitive to petrol we use.. When I collect my 159 no check light surfaced almost empty tank fuel... I go top up shell 95 2nd day morning engine check light surfaced.. I ask the car dealer.. He told me to finish my current tank & top up using ESSO instead of shell.. Dear all alfa owner.. Does this make any sense?? Please advise... May i join watsapp groupchat??

There are certain truth in this... Happens to my ex Alfa a 3.2 159. Ever since the new nitro vpower formula my Alfa always CEL! You can go to Alfa sportive , Peter can examine for you and if it is really due to petrol, it will say error on fuel mix

Thanks D3badge! Will try to do so!!

Dear all... need some ideas or reccomendations.

Story:

The aircon blower started to go max settings one fine day and wouldn't turn off even after taking out the key. Went to Tony, he recommended me to check it out at air-con specialists first as his guys are not that good with that area.

Went to 9 Degree LLP at Bt. Batok and they decided most likely its the resistor with the issue. They couldn't fink a ready part available so I sourced for a second-hand online and the problem didn't go away with the new part. They suspect it might have something to do with wiring in the 159 which they are not confident to deal with.

Anyone had similar problems? Or workshops I can visit to deal with this?

P.S. I've driven for 1 month+ with no aircon!!

P.S P.S got this car for almost a year, 2years more, Love the ride... BUT change fuel pump, cooling coil, battery, and suspension arms already! faintz...

Went down to MW and bad news.. They couldn't pinpoint the fault as well. Could be the fan motor, wiring, or control panel. They recommend to go back to agent. Sigh... think this is gonna cost a bomb...

Agent?

Try Markool(?) or Tomica?

I used the Alexandra Village one before.

Quite reasonable.

Just not very communicative.

The AD for alfa is Eurosports Auto right? I will try out one more workshop see how.. The thing is if it's related to the control panel it may be unfamiliar for non alfa workshops... I dunno.. Going to AD as last resort.

Just got my actuator and clutch changed at 3.3k at As at 112k km.

That's good, replace as many as possible concurrently, then you have fewer occurrence of failure... &  don't have to visit the workshop so often when other supporting parts fail

Dealers may be pumping the cheapest petrol available... 92RON...

and yes there is a certain level of sensitivity.

Most have seen stable performance with Caltex and Esso.

And more ups and downs with the others.

some find 95 better, some find 98 better.

your car is temperamental...

Hi,

Same I took over Alfa 159 last Fri, and CEL is on.. was advised probably becoz of petrol grade...

Anyway, went to VICOM for 7th year inspection, also pass and no issue...  [;)]

Did not notice CEL affecting any system till now... "cross my fingers and toes"  [angel]

Cheers....

well, once you uncross your fingers and + 4 weeks, something will pop up..

Any idea the pricing for accumaltor and actuator in Singapore?

What could be the possible root cause of my bella?

Thanks.

these are mechanical moving parts, which will have wear and tear over time.

that's the root cause.

also, many people, who want to manage cost, replace one at a time. if you replace on leg, the next weakest leg will break as the load is transferred to it...

So where possible, replace all selespeed components at the same time.

also flush your Selespeed fluid, Gearbox Fluid...etc at least once a year.

oil and fluid degrades.........

etc etc etc

i find Sportivo better with troubleshooting faults. For Aircon, i think he hooks up with other workshops.
