Hi guys,

I would like to know if anyone has any recommendations for car servicing? I read online that it's best to use Selinia motor oils..I am quite puzzled. I just bought my 159 less than a month. I am intending to sent it for servicing as previous owner told me to sent it for servicing every 60,000km..but I read online and on the owner's manual it's best to have it done 10,000-20,000...please advise. I bought mine through direct owner and car was in good condition.he kept receipts of whatever he replaced. He was the 2nd owner to this car. Now I am the 3rd owner. Within the 1st week of taking over, I experienced screechy sound whenever I steer the steering. So I brought it over to a workshop where previous owner used to service. My car was there for a day, and the workshop guy told me that the steering pipe is leaking. I paid $550 to replace that. As for my cigarette lighter was not working at all, however had light but it was not getting hot. I asked the same workshop guy to check and he told me "$200 plus just to fix it"..I told him it's ok, and just do the steering pipe. Few days later I happen to pass by a servicing shop at Pioneer and thought of having the cigarette lighter to be checked. He changed the fuse for me for just $20. Now I am intending to do a servicing for my car and replace my wiper, as Okto ice it can't fully sweep off the rain water and I can here a funny sound when it starts ticking left and right. Now I am confused with the servicing.

wats the pioneer workshop u went? as there aren't many, good to know more names.

also, i've been servicing and fixing my Alfa at the Sin Ming workshop where the non Chinese owner has actually helped me save quite a bit of money over the years with his DIY solutions. So i think i know which workshop yr referring to tats over quoting u.

But parts are still expensive and he will have to charge accordingly unfortunately at times. He also doesn't carry other brand parts these days so buying Alfa stock parts are pretty ex.

Anyway I've been looking at this V Tec Asia at Kaki Bukit. Seems like they do Alfas too. anyone dealt with them before?

Anyone know the driver?

Alfa Romeo allegedly crashes into lorry, traps three men believed to be foreign workers and fled accident scene

http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/courts-crime/alfa-romeo-allegedly-crashes-into-lorry-traps-three-men-believed-to-be

the fleeing could be a case of drink driving, so fleeing will prevent police from filing charges for this offence.

Hello,

I have purchased a second hand black Alfa Romeo 159 from 2010, I had never considered an Alfa Romeo to be honest but I just fell in love with this car. I hope I won't regret it :)

I have a question about using an iPhone with this car, the Blue&Me system seems to be the first generation, do you guys have any ideas where I could buy the USB adaptor for iPhone? I called Alfa Sportivo but their answer was "any accessory shop", of course the few I have called didn't even know what I was talking about.

Also in general, where do you do your servicing/repairs?

Thanks and I hope to meet some of you in the future :)

I use to service my Alfa at EA. After warranty, I did one service at AC and the rest of the time for repairs and servicing are all done at AS - Peter is very helpful.

Hi all!

My Golf GTi is currently running the end days... as such am looking for a second hand car.

Saw the  Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 Q4 in SG carmart.

Any body has any experience regarding maintanence cost, quirks and fuel efficiency of this car?

just found this ad and currently am researching on this.

Looks like a looker! and a good ride !

thank you very much!

Hi,

Fuel consumption for a 3.2 is not going to be good for a 60+Liter tank it has you could probably get 450km.

Maintenance costs is manageable if it is for the periodic oil change, spare parts are expensive so if the car breakdown the bill depending on the type of failure could be expensive.

But, an Alfa is an engaging drive like no other car.

Take time to read in this forum and you will find this car has its share of problems like the rest.

Some love alfas and some simply cannot stand it.

Go for a test drive before deciding.

Good Luck.

Am driving 1 now :) Shiok :)

But City driving the start/stopping causes the car to have bad consumption (Eg: mine is 90% city drive = 5.2 - 5.3 km/l)

Take note of the following when do consider buying

- AISIN Qtronic GB has heat cooling issue which cause gear slipping issues. So need to drive the car hard for 10-15 mins to see if the gearbox has slip issues.

http://www.jabawoki.com/2016/01/27/alfa-159-gearbox-cooler-modification/

- Hose Leaking >> need to check all the hose to see any sign of liquid else replacement can be expensive. The hose W&T is quite high as

- Heat is an Enemy

Anyway...you PM me if u need more insight...happy to share

Becareful, there is a Maroon 159 3.2 repo unit that is problematic. Need to becareful as that unit was bght by Goldenvolka (search his username)

Yeah he spent alot of time and money on it. But there were still problems with the peddle shifts

I personally saw the Repo Car and it was in bad shape.

So to the potential buyer ....check if the peddle shift + whether is it maroon red work for that 3.2

buyer beware.

Hello. I m considering an Alfa 159 2012. But is fairly worried about the high maintenance cost of the car.

Was thinking of a older 1 to minimize the loss but came across tis 2012 with a year or 2 warranty to the engine gearbox and compressor.

Please advise:)
