Not a fair comment... depends on how you drive... the 1.6 turbo should have enough power and torque for Singapore...

 

Torque is torque. However you drive, if not enough torque to pull a heavy vehicle, you will have a tough time to enjoy the pleasure of owning a Turbo car from the day u receive the car keys till the day you sell it.

Seriously... of course how you want to drive the car affects your perception of whether the car has enough torque or not... if you want to always drag race off from standstill then of course most small petrol turbos won't have enough torque... but if you're doing normal driving, then this 1.6 L petrol turbo should have more than enough torque, even when passing at highway speeds...
