coktky 2nd Gear April 5, 2018 Share April 5, 2018 $3K more for so much more metal and airbags, compelling offer. Engine also 1.4T + DCT? yes. 1.4T . I believe it will be same for transmission. 3k more for bigger boot spaces, more airbags, it is really a good deal. For not family man will go for i30 hatch to save the 3k for sport rim. Actually this wagon form car can be also very sporty...compare to sedan.
xiaozhi86 2nd Gear April 5, 2018 Share April 5, 2018 (edited) i30 1.4 GLS 5DR DCT TURBO 1353 $ 300 $ 92,999 $ 33000 i30 1.4 GLS WAGON DCT TURBO 1353 $ 300 $ 94,999 $ 30000 Seems like they update the price of the wagon. but then the price list is valid till 4 apr. meaning latest price still not out. anyone got price from SE can share? From list price looks like $2K more. Wagon means is going to be hit with Angmo soccer mom.
Coolant 3rd Gear April 6, 2018 Share April 6, 2018 (edited) latest info from my SE.. i30 1.4T DCT = $91,999 i30 1.4T Wagon DCT = $94,999 so it's $3k difference in price... the wagon version has same 1.4T engine/DCT transmission, same seating dimensions, but got additional much larger boot space, 7 air bags and roof rails too. seems it also comes with a special pull-up cargo barrier net, so you could load larger items and not have them spill forward or transport a dog behind and it wouldn't jump to the front. looks like a nice model designed for couples with active lifestyles and families with younger kids.. it'll definitely sell well to those demographics. Dinkydong 3rd Gear April 6, 2018 Share April 6, 2018 (edited) I30 wagon is a very practical car. The rear has a lower flat loading area compared to the i30 hatch. In addition, the rear comes with a good quality compartmentalised storage (a few compartments) and below the storage is the spare tyre. There's also a net and retractable top cover. In addition, there are 7 airbags. Other than that, the interior is largely similar to the hatch in terms of design and size. The additional weight does not appear to penalise the car's performance in any manner compared to the hatch. The car will be available for viewing at Expo this coming weekend for those interested. If u can get over the looks, this car is a very worth buy for the small premium over the hatch. It also has a higher OMV. Dinkydong 3rd Gear April 6, 2018 Share April 6, 2018 Got blind spot monitor? And are the seats leather? No blind spot monitor. Yes leather seats will be locally wrapped though I find the original fabric seats to be pretty decent and comfortable.

While the going is good with the sliding Coe. Those considering a 2.0 NA may want to look at this ride. Once Coe rise, this may not look that attractive due to the gap with cat A
SwirL 2nd Gear April 7, 2018 Share April 7, 2018 Kmc going for the kill with the wagon.. lol. Need to really question whether there is a real need for the wagon. Initially I also thought of going for it and started to dream about how I can bring my bicycle to ECP during weekends etc. Then reality set back, how often will I do so. In reality you will be driving a heavier car that is empty almost all the time, not making full use of the wagon. I feel the i30 space wise can comfortably support a family of 4 to Malaysia for a holiday too. Safety wise can be a consideration too, given thhat there is only 2 airbags for the hatchback while more in the wagon. But in my opinion, I would rather go for Elantra than the wagon because the former offers the safety. So it largely falls back to the space again. Have a dog? Wagon will be good. Just my two cents.
Friendstar Supercharged April 7, 2018 Share April 7, 2018 The wagon is the real deal. People who buy the hatch... Hmmm.. How much heavier is the wagon btw? ↡ Advertisement
