iamahbee 5th Gear June 30, 2020 Share June 30, 2020 (edited) So it seems like KMC has sold all the late 2019 shipment. Next shipment could be much later with the facelift, and looking at the specifications list the 1.0T-GDI non mild hybrid should be the one heading to our shores, if at all. I see... but our emissions standard stricter than Europe now... so we'll probably get this mild hybrid nonsense also... very soon... everyone is jumping onto this ridiculous bandwagon... either make it fully electric or real hybrid... not this mild hybrid nonsense... See_nik Neutral Newbie August 23, 2020 Share August 23, 2020 Some of the 2018 i30s should be due for change of shoes ...... A tip here - the Tucson 17" rims are a perfect fit for the i30. There are quite a few, if u look around, selling for about $200-500. Fit it with Good Year Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 225/45/17 (can easily find for <$130/piece, Made in Germany, not MIT kind). This is easily one of the better upgrade you can do for less than $200 (you have to change the i30's shoes anyway ....). These 225/45/17 F1A5 are in a completely different league from the OEM 205/55/16 Hankook Kinergy Eco2 that came standard.
See_nik Neutral Newbie August 23, 2020 Share August 23, 2020 Not exactly sure why, but the F1A5 are selling at very good price. I started with looking for PS4 , which is available in 16" size @ about $160/piece. The F1A5 starts with 17". Anyway it not just an issue of PS4 vs F1A5 but also 205/55/16 vs 225/45/17. Coldmeh Neutral Newbie September 20, 2020 Share September 20, 2020 Hi, currently looking at honda civic 1.6A vs i30 1.4T DCT as my first car, looking to buy used around 2-3 year old. However, doing much research, my concern is the maintenance and how fast the wear and tear for the DCT gearbox in the i30. Can anyone share some experience?
