Good workshop for Volvo

I used to visit Gary's.

Until I found out that they fitted used parts on my car. They are cheap for a reason.

Anyway, it was a bad experience owning a Volvo.

Do say more. What model you were referring to and the experience you had.

I had all kinds of problems on my S60. Gearbox, engine oil leak, radiator leak, coolant mix with engine oil etc It was one after another. Gary's using used parts was a bad choice- the parts don't last.

In the end, someone recommended me to Alan's United. Saw quite a few Volvo there. However, I gave up on the car shortly after.

Hi all. Driving a 2016 S60 D4. Does anyone know what's the viscosity of engine oil used? No info on local Volvo website. Egyptian Volvo says 0W 20. Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

Sometimes a bit of heng sway

had s60 petrol before, never had any problems except battery died once

many general workshops can service volvo nowadays,

using used parts charged at new part rates is not acceptable

very hard for most to verify especially when they send a photo of the new part

Any of the gurus here know where to locate maintenance plans for Volvo? I have problem locating mine ('15 S60 D4). Previously it is provided in the owners manual but now there's nothing.. Wearnes also quite secretive about it.. 🙄

Thanks alot @mersaylee! I found this also but found it hard to believe the timing belt etc are to be done only at 240k.. So i went and ask a few workshop, they told me like petrol car, all major servicing at 100k. 🤨

Same with gearbox oil, timing belt better to do it at 120k if not 100k for piece of mind.

I’m quite keen on one of the previous generation Volvos like the V40 or S60, but I do have concerns about the availability of spare parts for these cars given that Volvos are not very common in Singapore and the world, and they are no longer in production. For those in the know, are parts typically hard to find for less common cars down the road?

Stockist at sin ming Unico. Or buy off the internet. Plenty of choices from eBay to Aliexpress or specialist sites.
