2016 is ending, and its been an interesting ride.

The usual suspects have been doing well:

Toyota (Corolla);

Honda HRV / Vezels (especially if you include PI cars)

Mazda 3

Hyundai Elantra

Mercedes C or E Class?

Nissan QQ?

The Uber / Grab phenomenon has changed the ratios, and Toyota (Axio), Mazda (3), Honda (Vezel), a bit of Kia (K3) and some others have benefitted. So who will make it to the top ten of 2016?

The COE prices have been on a down trend, coming from highs in 2013-2014. The COE quotas were on an increase, but the government is putting the squeeze, and the quota is dropping again. With this, the COEs may rise, each time the COEs go up, the marquee brands do better.

See 2013 / 2014, when Merc had 3-4 cars in the top ten, and brands like BMW, Audi also featured.

Borneo Motors has been pretty aloof in the exorbitant pricing of their Thai assembled vehicles. I would be happy to see Honda take the lead for 2016.

Mitsubishi will be in top 10, in view of the 1,000 Attrages and 500 Lancers purchased by the rental companies representing the infamous Private Taxi APPs.

Confirm it's the Honda Vezel lah... the usual car buyers already snapping it up like siao when it first came out. My carpark has at least 5 new Vezels since start of the year.

It will be interesting to see the figures sans, the PI sales.

After all these sales don't count for local AD figures. Which may be why some dealers are pushing hard to get their numbers up for this year end.

Eg Kah probably didn't sell as many as they wanted, since most Honda sales didn't come from their showroom..

The Accord is a bit zzz and too ex, the last gen HRV was expensive and Thai made.

The Jade hasn't taken our roads by storm, so that leaves the Jazz, City and Mobilio, which are outclassed by rivals or are prices significantly higher than their competitors.

Actually I hope we will be able to get figures for cars sold by AD vs PI too.

That would make it more interesting..

IMO, the Vezel should be the top selling, but I would like to know how many HRVs were sold too.

Agree with you it's gonna be Vezel.

Anyhow take one stone and anyhow throw inside a carpark also got high chance to hit one.

My office carpark alone (less than 20 lots) already got 1 vezel and 1 HRV.

No 1 should goes to vezel, everywhere I see is this car, see until I scare.

But the toyota hardcore fans might say its altis la
