Splitting with Honda is a calculated gamble by McLaren, because the car company contributed about a net $100m (£75m) to the team through free engines, sponsorship funding and paying half the drivers' salaries.

Renault have told Red Bull they no longer want to supply them after next season and while the move has not been officially confirmed, insiders say the divorce is almost certain. Red Bull will be forced to use Honda engines with both its teams in 2019.

It seems Torro Rosso will try their luck with Honda engines next season. Honda needs some face saving in what has been a very embarrassing 3 Seasons with McLaren, so I wish them luck with TR!
