As they say, if you buying that price range, there are plenty more cars for that money.

Strange that a Subaru STI WRX is not far from that price as well.

Yeah true. Saw the Cupra R at $162k. $50k cheaper than the Golf R.

Same engine, if I'm not mistaken. Only diff is FWD instead of AWD.

Would definitely consider this instead if I'm in the market for the Golf R.

Saw it at the motor show yesterday. Like the design and the fact that it’s a hatchback. However, the drop between the boot opening and boot floor is rather significant. This will make putting and taking heavy stuff out of the boot more challenging. Interior has too many blank buttons and frankly I expect a more special interior at that price rather than the standard vw fare.

Yep I felt the same way. It has all the bells and whistles in terms of features and the infotainment system is one of the best in class. But material quality and feel was lacking somehow.

Think VW is also in a tricky position -  they can't have the Arteon cannibalise on A4/A6 at a lower price point so they cannot make it too nice. But as it is, its too much puffed up Passat, too little Audi.

please dont waste time reading it, let alone buying one copy.

He actually criticised the car more than praise it.

Maybe VW advertising with ST has gone down... I see less VW ads compared to the past
