ah..... means you have info of the exact OMV amounts! Please do share  [thumbsup] So potential buyers can make informed decision. Thanks !!!

wrong, we based it on what HE WROTE HIMSELF! Then he go and talk about their profit margins ?!?!? I'm really lost liao leh ..... 

 

4K OMV difference = 9.6K additional taxes. SCS only profit $400 more !!!! How dare they ??

When Skoda was reintroduced here again after absence of many years, their selling point was full or generously specced car at fair price which continued even for the recently launched Kodiaq 1.4l but seems they now moving away from this after a few mths of consolidation?

 

A pity if this is indeed the case cos I know of some Skoda skeptics who embraced the brand due to the high specs offered.

In the past few AD, they are small fly. Now is VW. Just like Past Mazda AD sell their car cheaper. After change to The new Conti car seller AD, price is not as attractive as before.

 

To add on, this car omv is 23/24k and 27/28k respectively, how cheap can they sell?

Current price too ex. I feel the style should sell 10k cheaper. For this price, I guess seat ateca seems a better buy

Before the arrival of this AD, all superb come with premium speaker. Now they divided into few trim and only the L&K trim come with it. Why?

In the past few AD, they are small fly. Now is VW. Just like Past Mazda AD sell their car cheaper. After change to The new Conti car seller AD, price is not as attractive as before.

 

If sell cheap how to afford their new showcase/workshop in West wor!  [:p]

 

Anyway with a 10K different between the Ambitious and Style, this different is really not alot.. beside the agent need to have extra overhead in spares/training etc for a mere small profit.

OMV is on LTA website.  I used Oct OMV in the calculation.  However, it does varies a bit from month to month

Yup fluctuation is understandable due to say currency exchange n such

 

BUT under declaring is another thing.

As you can see, Skoda AD made insane amount of profit for each car... This is expected since they are expected to be tiny vol seller... 

 

And their warranty period is so miserable by today's standard... 5yrs, 100000km warranty only (which I believe comes with lots of ** in disclaimers) , and 3 free svcs instead of the industry norm 3 or 5 yrs. 

 

三年无发市, 发市顶三年.... read this in Cantonese and you know what I mean... 

 

This is why PI cars often offers better value for money.

That why I say over is price. 30k profit is too much. Anyway, there is PI and best part is even PI is cover by Skoda service center for 3 years. Just maybe you need to go there for 3 years servicing

So cost price at 84k selling at 112k. Which is 33% premium.

 

If they are sincere to improve their branding volume, they could have sold at 100k without lost too. Mazda is different scenario as it brand has already been established here before the new AD took over

Probably he is comparing with after market speaker rather than stock speaker. For sound noob like me and do not want to spend addition time and cost for ICE upgrade, i will rather still to the best the stock can offer

In the market for a suv now. Yup,equipments doesn't compliment high pricing.

Ateca seem better option.

Was at Northpoint City just now so took a quick look at the Karoq. Rear legroom quite decent, but agree the upholstry seats are a turn-off.

Looks like the thigh support is quite poor, with a shortened seat bench.

 

Most people just focus on the "leg-room" but dont realise that thigh support as in the width of the seat bench also matters in overall space. I rather have less "leg room" but more thigh support than the other way round.

Huh? An india car brand now still think high & mighty about itself?

Was at Northpoint City just now so took a quick look at the Karoq. Rear legroom quite decent, but agree the upholstry seats are a turn-off.

That is why i question why would they want to turn off buyer with the basic trim. They should display what is the best it could offer to catch the attention 1st.

Anyone bought Skoda Karoq during the Car Motorshow last weekend? I heard quite good pricing and also some useful freebies?

 

Questions:

 

1. Ambition variant comes with leather seat or fabric?

 

2. Any one test drive this already? Or owned one, so far how is the experience?

skoda follows VW servicing intervals. for majority of average mileage drivers, 1 service per yr, instead of the japanese 6 mth/10,000 km cycle...

Why India car brand is lesser than any other country brand? 

If someone were to offer you a Jag/LR at a decent price (and if you can afford it), you would turn it down?

 

Even iPhones are manufactured in China mate - don't be so xenophobic. 

 

If there is a problem, call it out to the brand not the country of manufacture! Peace!

I wouldn't want to leave ANY engine oil in the crank case for a full year just becos the manufacturer claim it could. 

 

Engine oil do break down over usage and time. And in sg stop/go driving and intense heat, the degradation is even more pronounced.  Only the top tier engine oil brands/models can handle such severe duty usage. The trouble is, how many ADs in SG, if any, bothers to equip themselves with tier 1 grade engine oil? 

 

The retail brands/models u find at respective gas stations mart are NOT tier 1 grade. 

 

I would take such claims with a pinch of salt.... just like some AD who claimed that there is no need to replace ATF for their gb are 'sealed for life'.
