Red car should stop and let altis go. It's no more than 2sec.

Why let others wait for you to park that would probably take 10-20 sec.

That again, red lancer already started reversing, altis should just wait as the lady is not even looking on her left traffic.

Lack of situation awareness for both.

Silver needs to be more patience. But if blame, I would say WOMAN in the wrong more because she is turning and have to exercise more caution.

Before she came out of car, I already knew it was a woman [laugh] [laugh]

In the scenario below, who would you say is right and wrong...

Technically, should the red car wait for the silver car to drive pass before it starts reversing into carpark lot or should the silver car wait for the red car to park before moving pass it? In your opinion, how would insurance handle this case?

Well, the important lesson we can learn here is that if they had exercised a bit more patience, the accident wouldn't have happened...

So, let's all remember to exercise a bit more patience... This will save everyone a lot of heartache, pain and trouble...

Drive safe everyone.... [laugh]

I suspect 50-50 so each pay for his/her own mistake and hopefully learn to be a better driver after this incident. Silver car repair likely much higher and it kenna swiped across multiple panels. Edited by Jellandross

Red car already reversing and both indicators flashing... It's the silver car stoopid dunno why must deliberately continue moving... As if give way a few seconds will lugi big time... Red car driver would have been concentrating on reversing once he thinks all clear and silver car is probably in his left blind spot.

To me the silver car is impatient. Just wait for like 10 - 20 secs la.

Everyone will be happy.

I agree. Once car start reverse parking maneuver should just pause and wait.

Now silver car end up with bodywork whereas long hair mm red car probably just change bumper only.

A baby just lost a mother on Mother's day eve...  [smallcry]

SINGAPORE - Doctors extracted a premature baby from the victim of a fatal road accident which happened in Jurong West on Saturday (May 13).

The woman, who has been identified as Goh Chieh Ting, 25, was six months pregnant when she was hit by a lorry while crossing the road, Shin Min Daily News reported on Sunday.

She did not respond to treatment in hospital and was later pronounced dead. However, doctors performed an emergency caesarean section and managed to save her daughter, who is in stable condition.

The fatal accident happened on Saturday at 8am, on Jurong West Avenue 1 towards Corporation Road, near Block 456.

Eyewitnesses told the Chinese evening daily that Ms Goh was holding a woman's hand as she crossed the road. It is understood the other woman is Ms Goh's mother-in-law. Subsequently, a lorry drove out from the carpark and turned right. Even though the driver slammed on the brakes, he was unable to halt the vehicle in time and hit Ms Goh.

Cleaner Yi Fan, 21, said that he was cleaning Block 456 and saw the two women walk past him, before tragedy struck moments after.

He told Shin Min: "The woman who was hit was lying on the legs of the other woman, and the right side of her body was full of blood."

Ms Goh, who hailed from Johor, held a long-term visiting permit and had lived near the site of the accident with her parents-in-law, according to Shin Min.

On the day of the accident, she and her mother-in-law had just eaten breakfast and were about to cross the road to visit the market.

After the accident struck, Ms Goh was taken unconscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. She died at 9.30am on Saturday as a result of severe head injuries.

When contacted, the police said that a 46-year-old male driver had been arrested for causing death by negligence.

It is indeed a tragic incident. I am not calling it an accident as I am sure the truck driver deliberately ran her down since it could not be that fast coming out of a carpark.

Such culprits should be caned and jailed 2 year or 3 years.

I am scared of heavy vehicles and stay away from them as a driver and pedestrian.

I'd kept repeating in MCF, a vehicle is mass destructive weapon, in this particular tragic accident, it had taken away a mother of a new born baby girl and the baby girl is extremely unfortunate to grow without mother love's and caring.

Let me meet this lorry farker and I will take him ON! Without regrets.
