What was their initial offer and did they hint at what price they would consider seriously?

Ya, should drop some hint else they think buyers low ball them.

Sales price was at 152888, this was around Feb. For the Innovation Premium Edition.

They didn't hint any price just say that can counter offer.

But I would say that one should check the omv which will help determine the profit margin and then bargain based on that.

Hmm, given the average build quality of the Astra, let's hope they do a better job here, otherwise Opel will find it hard to survive in SG...

If I'm not wrong, Astra is built in Poland while Insignia is built in Russelheim Germany.

Hopefully, that means better build quality.

Nah.... The Commodore I rented (should be from same production line) had a plastic flap next to the handle to close the hatch that kept coming off, despite being a brand new car. It may be made in Germany, but labour could be Polish, Turks, etc. Like our road surface now being 3rd world standards.

Maybe parts made in Germany but assembled in Poland?  [confused]

Interested to know too. If 1.5T is lower price than skoda superb amibition plus then maybe raise some eyebrows

Even if 5k lower, superb will still be more superb

The engine in the superb is just much more powerful, 217 vs 162 bhp

Somehow I feel superb is more German than insignia

Good pricing.

Now probably the Insignia can sell.

About 20k drop from 150+k a few months for the insignia innovation premium edition.

Deservedly so, i think, as the engine, gearbox, interior materials lose out to passat and superb.

The only thing that stands out with this opel is that it has the almost all latest tech features which are missing from its competitors.

If I wanted a more budget conti car, the skoda range looks better and seems more likely to stick around, especially with VW in the background.. the new Kodiaq is very impressive.

Fancy features can’t compensate for poor build and reliability.. see the stories of their Astra..it’s a big chunk of change..

OMV 27K +/-

Hmmm... LTA website shows 30.7k for May.

Maybe removed some features to reduce OMV and reduce price.
