Winter clothes for Hokkaido

I always use a heavy rugby shirt, a ski jacket, fleece trousers

fur lined boots and on a very cold day a fleece vest.

And if still too cold for other people then a heattech under the rugby shirt

and a wind breaker over the ski jacket.

I love Japan because once a year

they have a Doronko Matsuri Mud Throwing at your MIL festival

We must respect culture and tradition right?

And preserve it!

This man seems to be enjoying throwing mud at his MIL

Yup its also a bit hypy.

Hakodate around Xmas is nice.  At night, they usually have some Xmas stalls and mascots walking around . And some mini fireworks too.

Can't remember clearly now, but I think the stretch near the sea is a bit like San Francisco fishermen wharf area.

But the most epic is the cable car ride up the mountain where we can see the nightview as your pic shows.
