New 2018 BMW X3

Finally installed the hood insulator that is non standard for all X3 except for the M40i version .

Not sure why it is not standard item, but it does reduce NVH even further even though the car is very quiet already. The engine sound is even more muffled now.

Hello,

May I know how much you pay for the bonnet insulator?

Thanks

Went to see the X3 today and test drove the sdrive20i m sports.

Comparing this with the GLC200 which I tested last month, the X3 feels better due to;

Newer model

10.25” Infointainment system and metering cluster is much nicer

Wireless charging

Comes with gps and Apple CarPlay which are standard equipment

Leather and rear seats more comfy

Power/acceleration, noise insulation and road holding felt similar

Multi combinations of body and interior colours

19” rims with run flat tires

Immediate reg available and more attractive trade in value due to ongoing BMW world.

Decided to sign on dotted line and wait for next month delivery.....could have wanted the xdrive30i for more power but then, felt this is sufficient already.

Congrats on your new purchase, and hope you don't rue the fact that you are missing out on the additional power in time to come.

The 20i versus the 30i is in terms of the tune - both are 2.0L B48 twin-scroll (not twin) turbo engines, i.e. same hardware, just different software. FC wise, it would seem that the 20i might be better, but if properly driven, the 30i could possibly yield better results because of its power-weight ratio.

But at the end of the day, just remember to enjoy and have fun! That's the most important thing.

Just my humble tuppence.

I asked my SE wrt to CarPlay and the answer was yes iirc.....i rated this feature quite high on my “want” list.

Perhaps, u can also check with ur SE.

Last month, I was quoted 206k nett but must trade in my car..

After the latest COE bidding, the price now is 207,888 without trade in.

I checked, it's CarPlay ready. Still need to pay $500 for it.

Ordered the 30i M Sport package in Aug, and was told will be in time for Sept production (Spartanburg) and est. delivery late Oct-Nov.

Just got a call from PML informing parts for Parking Asst + package is out of stock and production pushed to Jan '19.

Anyone of you in the same situation? Thanks guys
