CarNutz 4th Gear July 12, 2018 Share July 12, 2018 So now Volvo is more high SES brand than Audi? ðPerception of brand atas-ness is highly subjective. I believe to buy a car on brand alone does not justify the true value of the brand. Volvo has been a luxury brand just that it is understated. Probably this is why top civil servants like this brand as compared to the big three.

You mean those escort vehicles that bullies everyone out of the way ? That's because Volvo of yore is built like a tank Not so much on atasness.... Theoldjaffa Hypersonic July 12, 2018 Share July 12, 2018 I test drove the vrs245 today. I was told I'm the 1st customer to test drive this car in Singapore, lol. Nice drive, steady , a bit noisy from engine due to 2.0 is naturally more noisy (but in a sexy way of sounding) Looks wise not many policy will like it especially the front light. I tested the Tiguan 2.0 that has similar engine. It sounded coarse, and although paper specs look good, the car felt slow. Maybe because it's an SUV, but for a car with a GTI engine, I had expected more. Hopefully the RS245 sounds and performs better. The specs are confusing. Brochure says 6.4s, Carbuyer says 6.7s, overseas reviews say 6.6s.

Flick gearshift to s mode/tab the vrs botton on the row of button Fl8ck gearshift to the left Put left foot on brake while right foot on gas till 3500 Release brakes and watch the world pass u by. The on board counter will tell u how fast. Please note. Go to a empty deserted road. Dont endanger life.

Chugomay Neutral Newbie July 12, 2018 Share July 12, 2018 (edited) Had test drive the 2l Kodiaq, somehow wasn't very impressed. The Sorento drive was better and smoother plus cheaper Edited July 12, 2018 by Chugomay

The Sorento drive was better and smoother plus cheaper If the 2l didn't impress you, I think the 1.4l will be left for dead.. I'm curious to see what feedback ppl have after test driving the 1.4l Kodiaq fully loaded..

Lotr8445r 5th Gear July 12, 2018 Share July 12, 2018 Skoda is indeed credible in terms of mechanical reliability, Car Throttle recently featured 'miles', a high mileage 1999 Skoda they acquired for 200 pounds, with over 431,000 miles (almost 700k km) on the odo still running fine, and on original suspension They touched up and restored the car, as well as opened the engine to see the internals, and did a few tests on the car, y'all can watch more on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUR2HMmoIrU&t=5s But it is contradict to those fleet that has been use as taxi here. Those Taxis are being abused to beyond recognition, it'll be good to compare Skoda taxis overseas to what was previously used in SG..

Why they are continue to use here as taxi but not Skoda then? Toyota & Hyundai not being abuse like Skoda? Better still, why some even use Renault whom is not famous for good reliability but not Skoda as taxi now? Edited July 12, 2018 by Lotr8445r

Lotr 6th Gear July 13, 2018 Share July 13, 2018 I know that the Superb just arrived in Singapore but how long had it been in the market internationally? I have seen online reviews dating from mid 2015. Thanks. Any chance for facelift in the near future? ↡ Advertisement
