Saw many Superb Combi in Germany and Czech, and it certainly look more upmarket in metal, like Audi A6, instead of VW Passat, which it is based on.

Seeing is believing. Skoda, particularly Superb, is the car used to ferry government official, not just in Czech Republic, but other Eastern European countries as well.

Czech

And guess what, Audi A6 is their police car.

Saw a fleet of Skoda next to Austria Parliment House, but not very sure if they are used by the minister, or for fetching government official from other visiting countries.  And based on my observation these few days, the number of Octavia on the road (Czech, Hungary & Austria) is almost as much as the Altis / Mazda 3 on our road, and Superb is much much more common than E Class or 5er there!

Went to have a look at the Kodiaq that day, and it was rather disappointing..

The rear 2 seats are really only for kids. In terms of space, i think it loses to the CX9

Had a look at the Superb and Octavia and they still kept in line with the huge boot space which was a positive for them throughout the years.

They should have given this one with crystal-dusted rims to the President. More symbolic of Czech.

I am not surprise that Superb is Czech President's ride, as it is after all their national brand / product, but having it as official car in other Eastern European countries, instead of the usual Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar & Volvo, are somewhat a uncommon choice, especially when police car are using Audi & BMW...

Imagine LHL or Halimah in a Superb, while escorting vehicles are Volvo, Mercedes, etc. Get my point?

Saw this last week at Marsiling

Nice catch pal! This one is brought in by PI in August, running on 2.0TDI diesel engine, producing 190ps horsepower & 400Nm torque.

I have not seen many in Europe yet, as I understand from some local I spoke to is that the model is still new and longer lead time for delivery.

Heard half of the vw showroom will become the skoda showroom.. I would have thot they secure a better spot

Spoke to a staff at VW Centre 2 weeks ago, Yes, the showroom facing the front will be displaying VW model, while the current service centre at the back will be for Skoda model. The service centre will be relocated to the middle of the building (around the waiting lounge area) by mid Dec, and renovation for Skoda showroom will start immediately.

Oh wow, it's in SG already! Great to have Skoda back...

If i was ever back in SG, will probably get a Superb Estate...

Yes, Superb Combi (Estate) with full sunroof will be the best! There are much more estate model in Europe than sedan (ratio ~3:1). As per the photo I posted earlier, the estate is sleeker than VW Passat Combi, and look closer to Audi A6 from the side.

I worry they use the skoda as a punching bag n only bring in the worst of the worst to cater to the lower end cars instead n leave the higher end to vw.

Would be nice if they got the 4wd 2.0 t 280 bhp superb in n sell it at passat 1.8t prices

Logically they should do that unless they intend to replace VW with Skoda
