Oh man, it feels like it's been forever. We've been seeing the new Toyota Supra in spy shots, catching details in leaks and rumors, and speculating on its true intentions, since basically forever. We here at R&T drove a pre-production prototype in late 2018, but even then, certain details about the car were unknown. Now, at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, we finally get the full specs. Ladies and gentleman, this is your new Toyota Supra.

Let's hit the big stuff: 335 horsepower, 365 lb-ft of torque from a single-turbo 3.0-liter straight six. An eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission is the only gearbox available right now, but you knew that. Toyota claims a 0-60 of 4.1 seconds, with an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph, and a curb weight of 3397 lbs.

For comparison, the new BMW Z4, which shares its platform with the Supra and was jointly developed with the Toyota, offers a 255-hp, 295 lb-ft turbo four-cylinder or a 382-hp, 369 lb-ft version of the Toyota's turbo six. The base-model BMW starts at about $51,000, with the six-cylinder M40i commanding nearly $65,000. Toyota has not yet announced pricing on the Supra, but a fan forum speculates that the base model will command $50,000, with the top-spec model adding a little more than $5000 to the price tag.

Also, you'll note that the Supra's interior is basically all BMW stuff. That's not a bad thing!

The Supra stays true to the traditions set forth by previous-generation Supras, particularly the beloved (and increasingly unaffordable) A80-generation. The new Supra is a two-seater, with a swoopy fastback design and a short wheelbase. The turbo six-cylinder is chatty and peppy, though we still hope Toyota will find the guts to build a stick-shift version. A four-cylinder model and a lightweight track version are also rumored, though no details about these variants were offered at the Detroit auto show.

The Supra hits dealerships in the summer of 2019, available in three trim levels—3.0, 3.0 Premium, and Launch Edition. Having driven a prototype on the road and the track, we can assure you that this new Supra is as muscular and fleet-footed as you always hoped a new Japanese coupe would be. Toyota fans, Fast and Furious fans, and true sports car enthusiasts, rejoice: The Supra is back.

Supra now on sgcarmart listing under borneo motos. Lai lai, guess the $$$$$$? I say 250k.

really can't think of an alternative to this 3l roadster.

I'm guessing surely more expensive than Civic type r (185k). Maybe close to m240i (231k)
