inlinesix Supersonic November 20, 2017 Share November 20, 2017 huracan v10 sounds very good as well right? IL6 x 2 sounds better than V10 A lambo or ferrari does not evoke emotions lah. And let me guess your friend drives a WRX? Nowadays sports car is too safe. It is too clinically efficient in achieving lap time. ↡ Advertisement

Felipe 3rd Gear November 20, 2017 Share November 20, 2017 depends how u want to define supercar. is it 0-100, track time, status, sales etc. a lot of factors actually. imo, it's a car tat is something another cannot and will never be. a lot of cars can be as fast as Ferrari or lambo. put some mods, and yr good to go. if stock, then a lot of cars can match older Ferrari models these days. this is why i discount 0-100 timings. not tat it doesn't matter. but too many cars hit 4-5 secs these days. if it's a porsche, i would consider GT3 a supercar. Gtr. 911 turbos are all super car category.Zonda. Agera. Aventador are hyper cars category GTR is a very fast car. will it be a vintage classic many years down the road? be in a museum tat showcases car design? unlikely.
Jamesc Hypersonic November 20, 2017 Share November 20, 2017 Hi All, had a friendly debate with a fellow petrol head. I was for turbo S being a super car. He was against . My argument was turbo S has 580hp and is probably the fastest accelerating car, minus the tesla. His argument was turbo S doesn't evoke the emotions like a lambo or ferrari. So my question is what make a car a supercar? Price, history, horespower, looks? what about aston, mclaren and bentley? According to your fren I drive a super car. Every time it breaks down I am full of emotion and I cry. Get smarter frens.

According to your fren I drive a super car. Every time it breaks down I am full of emotion and I cry. Get smarter frens. unlikely to be emotional when break down cos no one simply owns one supercar as only car. also, it rarely breaks down cos its seldom used. look at the mileages at sgcarmart for ferrari and lambo and u get the idea
Benarsenal Turbocharged November 20, 2017 Share November 20, 2017 I do think it can be quite subjective. For me there are a few factors. Performance is obviously one consideration, but the other is perhaps the 'wow' factor. As in, will people turn their heads and say wow when you drive past. Maybe some people say 911 Turbo S or GT3 may not be supercar, as to most ordinary folk it is just another Porsche 911 (which, let's face it, is quite common nowadays). As compared to a Lambo or Ferrari which looks distinctive and eye-catching. I dunno. Just saying.

Hubwee Supercharged November 20, 2017 Share November 20, 2017 There is No replacement for displacement ... To me it’s always how fast the car can go from 180 to 280km/h and how fast it can go from 200 to 0 km/h . Not so much about 0 to 100 km/h anymore .
Throttle2 Supersonic November 20, 2017 Share November 20, 2017 (edited) u are in the know! ya he used to own wrx, but drive a 7 seater now. his argument was lambo looks more exotic and sounds so much better than turbo s I am not in the know. But i am very good with sociology and behavioural studies. Its becos a lambo or ferrari is all ah beng WRX drivers’ grail supercar, duh. And of course, his argument is pure bulls**t. Supercars are defined never by looks nor sounds. the stylish cool educated gentlemen with distinguished tastes and discerning character will always pick the Porsche. Whisper_2000 Clutched November 20, 2017 Share November 20, 2017 Aiya, all the cars mentioned in the discussion are supercars la. It's just that some people refuse to acknowledge them as some may not like some car brands or can't afford them (sour grapes). Our world are full of weird people who cannot accept facts. Period.
