It is one of the more popular local dish with stir fried cubes of radish cubes.

It is normally fried with eggs, garlic, chai por, spring onions and sometimes prawns.

It can be consumed at any time of the day, be it breakfast or supper.

It consists mainly of two types:

The black fried with dark sweet sauce.

The white that is original. Some cooked with more egg.  :yeah-im-not-drunk:

Which one do you prefer?

White. with chilli and extra egg - cooked extra crispy.

Don't like sweet sauce.

My wife's favourite stall is at Bt Timah Food centre. Why her favourite only and not mine?

For me is white.

Favourite is Bedok interchange hawker Song Zhou fried carrot cake. Add prawn $1, add sotong $1, add extra egg 50c and chili, $5.50 total. Super shiok, they fry the seafood from fresh and mix into your carrot cake, adding lot of seafoods flavour to the otherwise, already superb carrot cake.

Best is still bt Timah market. Ate there often growing up.

White. Cos I like the egg flavour with the crisp carrot cake.

dark is just using a lot of sugar in the dark sauce.

Same for me. White at bukit timah corner stall.

However after the old men retired (many years ago) the stall was mend by his son/daughter I reckon. Standard drop.

Anyone knows what happened to the famous white chai tao kway in Ang Mo Kio Central hawker center before the renovations?

Missing that one. Good with lots of eggs.

The white one for me.

Just cannot seem to like the sweetness of the black one due to the dark soya sauce.

Like my stuff with quite a bit of spring onions, fried with lots of eggs and picked radish and some chili

I like the one JS likes at marine terrace hawker centre.

Plus the one at SGV hawker centre next to the kuay chup stall.

White preferred over dark. Sometimes I’d go for 友记 鸳鸯 if undecided and available.
