I always thought punggol very new since there are still so many new BTOs being built. If the station remained shut for 12 years without any maintenance, think many things in the station should be spoilt liao.Later got signal fault, track fault, loose nuts and bolts, yards yada yada... Can't possibly cut the LRT track to put a station when development are up. That area had planned for a regional sport hub (opposite SAFRA) and with the JTC digital and cyber security industries and STI campus coming up in the plan.
