even if COE drops dont expect AD to pass the savings to you. Toyota wish when COE was $53k, selling for $99988. Now COE is $42k still same price..

That's true for the Wish, but not for Sienta, which I recently booked. When the COE dropped, the Sienta (standard) price also dropped by a corresponding amount. Now it is at its lowest price ever of $88888.

As of 3:15 pm today ( 6th feb ) there are about 29 bids for Cat A and 15 bids for Cat B . it is normal ? .. It only left one day for 1st round of Feb to close on tomorrow.

These are non serious bids by individuals. No need look at their numbers

BM needs to clear their stock of Sienta Standard models. its a combination of both factors.

  • COEs bid in Categories A, B and D are valid for 6 months, while COEs in Categories C and E are valid for 3 months ("Temporary COE"). If the Temporary COE (TCOE) successfully bid for the registration of vehicle is not utilised by its expiry date, the TCOE will lapse and its full bid deposit [ie. $200 for Category D and $10,000 for Categories A, B, C and E] forfeited.

Maybe that's why the dealers tend to refuse to sell you a car when you come with your own COE.

Strongly feel that the entires COE system is rigged by the dealers. Looks they are profiting from COE heavily.

Well, ADs aren't exactly saints either.

Can they guarantee bid the COE 100%?

3 week buying window will have an impact on Cat A. Also believe Cat B will soon meet Cat A range.

Cat A - ~2100 bids - $37,000~$38,000

Cat B - ~1800 bids - $39,000 - $42,000 (in general lower)

From the above check coe link, there is another link to check how much your dealers bid for you with your nric.

Agree

Dealers take calculated profit most time with COE...

In addition, they also tie with Banks/Finance to get commission

Adding also Insurance tie ups

Not sure why LTA or Trade councils not regulate these in a fair and transparent way
