y cant u let those who genuinely want to bid for plates do it themselves at LTA?

 

people like u whack the numbers and then sell it off for a profit.

making prices more expensive in the process.

Usually these people are car dealers who just put in low bids for every 2 digits , or some 3 digits numbers , and see which ones they kena.

 

From those they kena , try to resell in market see whether got carrots buy . If cannot re-sell , they just package into one of their cars and make it more attractive to the potential buyers.

all the numbers are wiped dry when bidding opens, by the car dealers and then they try to re-sell in open market to profit.

 

as someone who wants to bid for a desired number plate soon, i'm absolutely disgusted by this practice.

 

it makes prices artificially inflated for number bidding.

LTA won't be bothered.

 

the current system gathers plenty of $$ for them.

 

and with the car dealers stocking up and reselling numbers, LTA earns extra through the $1300 fee per transfer.
