The COE rebate is low, so it suggest dealers are expecting COE prices to soften further

Very good counter argument. [thumbsup][thumbsup]

Also not sure how many of the Expo sales are from the pool of buyers who would normally have bought the cars in showroom anyway.

We know on average there will be thousands car buyers buying cars at showrooms every week, so the location of signing the contract at the Expo might be from the common pool of average buyers!

I still believe today will be lower price level from previous, due to poor sentiments.

Not everyone will go down to the expo to purchase their cars.

In the car expo thread, there are buyers who rather beat the crowds and go to the showrooms to feel and test drive the car. Some others can just make a call since they have told their SEs their purchase decisions. They probably want to wait for the car expo promotion prices to lock down on the prices. No need to go to the car expo. Just go down showroom to sign contract.

If all a thousand cars sold were new, only can fill 1/3 leh...

Still have 2/3 to fill over last weekend.

NON-TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES:

Category A: Cars (up to 1600cc & 97kW (130bhp)) => 1,566

Category B: Cars (above 1600cc or 97kW (130bhp)) => 1,417

Category D: Motorcycles => 518

TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES:

Category C: Goods Vehicles and Buses => 260

Category E: Open Category => 573

True. But that 2/3 could have taken up even before the car expo weekend and the period after the show till today.

Need to include those not bidded successfully in the previous rounds too.

you are not sincere of buying a car for your wife.....

? Coe rebate level lah. Decided by AD, not my taichi.

This one is not Komoco's tier 2 price. not tier 3.

I actually wanted to take tier 3 but the SE says she will discount the tier 2 price. Cos she has nothing to gain personally (her commission is unchanged), i took her up on the offer. She must have some genuine worry that tier 3 may not get the COE (and hence losing the commission in the 1st place).

Cat. A: $38K

Cat. B: $39K

I support the car expo effect but not too strong to shoot over $40K. Again, its my pure guess here. Good luck to those vested!
