Go for 17x7.5. Then use 225/45/17 tyres. Great variety of tyres to choose from and cheap.

If you emphasize looks, go for 18 inch. 17 is best for balance between comfort, perfo and looks.

I am driving same car as you, B17. Rims now are 17x7.5, offset +40.

Car is lowered by 2 fingers, no problem.

U mean u lower yr car suspension by 2 fingers?

Or u mean by changing to 17 inch rims, the car is lowered by 2 fingers?

My stock rims were 17-6.5. Stock tyres 205/50/17. This is rare size. Limited tyre models and expensive.

Changed to 17-7.5 rims on 215/50/17 and then 225/45/17 tyres. Both ok.

At this point, still on stock suspension, 4 fingers gap.

Then changed coilovers to lower to 2 fingers gap, while on 225/45/17 tyres. No issues with rub after 1 year.

Sylphy stock suspension is crap, as feedback by chatgroup. I find my bc br coilovers much better in all aspects.

Neutral Newbie

Does anyone encounter wheel unbalance after changing to 17”? I changed mine to 17” and TC said that my wheels are not balance and require to add weights. However even without any weights, my car is very smooth

Those weights are not heavy. Just some counter weights to balance the wheel when its spinning at high speeds. usually at low speeds, cannot feel anything, but when going at high speed, there might be some wobbling.

Any guru can guide me on offset? I got a set of inforged ifg24 17â offset is 35~42 with 225/45-17 tyres. Can this setup fit into Hyundai Elantra?

You didn't quote the width

Anyway assuming width

7 inch and 7.5 inch both your car can take with offset 35 to 42

Offset 35 will give more aggressive look.

I will take only as below

7inch with 35mm

7.5 inch with 42mm or 45mm

Just MHO
