This is already happening when the full foreign worker population is not in Singapore yet. Wait till the businesses manage to recruit all the required workers that were retrenched/sent home during COVID.
As we know, businesses in Singapore are short of workers, mainly the foreign ones. The floodgates are already open, just waiting for them to obtain their employment passes. The population numbers will shoot back up, stressing the transportation system........ and everything else.

Looks like our MRT really cannot handle the high load of people. During covid period where WFH is mandatory, you never hear signal fault happen. And now when everything is back to normal, such fault come back again?! So all those simi sai maintenance works done never resolve all the faults in the system? So why gahment still dont want to admit that the public transport infrastructure cannot cope with the high population?

It is too obvious to call it "signal fault". Who are they kidding?

It is just like when a driver is caught speeding red handed by TP and give that "lau sai" excuse.

No choice la, they build a MRT system which cannot handle large commuters, so all these breakdown cannot be avoided. People are screwed. Public transport cannot make it, and even they want to make life difficult for people driving own car.

Train service along entire Thomson-East Coast Line disrupted by signal fault.

SINGAPORE - A signal fault disrupted train service along the entire Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) in both directions on Wednesday morning (July 6), leaving some commuters stuck on six stalled trains.

In a tweet at 8.40am, SMRT said there was no train service along the nine-station stretch between Woodlands North and Caldecott in both directions on Singapore's newest MRT line.
