But the selling point of the Kia Cerato is it's close resemblence to the Audi A series. Feels good to drive an Audi lookalike at a bargain. 😊

$84K for the Cerato EX is ridiculous when it's sibling, the Hyundai Avante S which shares identical engine, gearbox and specs is selling at $76K.

Hi, may I check where did you get the figure of $76K for Avante S? I saw recent KMC pricelist indicate Avante S is selling at $81K.

Not when it becomes as common as the Vezel. 🤔

Did you get AIG insurance for 12 months only ? When I signed with C&C, I had to take a 24 months contract with AIG (2 year paid upfront)

The 24 months insurance with AIG via C&C is an option. It is not compulsory. 12 months is the norm.

Eh? You got into an accident and the NCD got reset?

Yea got into one and thus a haircut when I changed cars and insurers (with protector removed).

Lesson learnt - don't change ride until NCD recovered.

I still find the premium for AIG high even at 30% NCD, is it because of the sunroof hmm.

Yes went with 12 months instead of 24, although 24 would have more savings if you see through the full 2 years.

Mate of mine got the Cerato with AIG, switched to NTUC after half a year.

p/s - is everyone seeing more ads these days after the upgrade? I cant recall if there were even ads before.

Their GT line trim increased price to $96k?! 😅

Seems like the SX line is no longer sold?

Yes, it is, and coverage is not necessarily better than the cheaper ones.

Indeed. SX and GT Line are pretty much the same beside the seats design and side skirts ; it’s quite logical they only sell one, and they visibly took the opportunity to increase the price

Is the 2-year plan more expensive? I had the impression it was quite a good deal, some more there is the further 15% discount if you are assessed low risk with the AAS Academy. Think it was around $1400 over 2 years with 50% NCD and NCD protector. Not too shabby in my opinion.

How much were you quoted?

AIG's quote and coverage is nonsense. DA has more value-for-money

Care to share how so? I always value AIG cos easy to claim... they aren't fussy... probably their higher premiums lar...

Neutral Newbie

Hi Cerato Owners,

I am contemplating to change my car to a KIA Cerato. Currently driving a qashqai 1.2.

I have a few questions to ask:

1.How is the reliability of the car as compared?

2.Are there any cons for the Cerato after driving for awhile?

3. Average Fuel consumption?

4.Accerlerstion/pick up difficulties?

2nd year renewal was the same as my first year premium.

With DA, I saved 30%, with more coverage and petrol vouchers.

2 air bags, no traction control, no keyless start for ex trim and below, FC not exactly wonderful either but stable drive at high speeds due to the weight.
