Me! I thought a recession was coming and oil price will half so I went with floating rate.

All this happened but I learnt one very important lesson.

Oil price goes down from $90 to $40 and electricity comes down a bit only.

The it goes up $5 and electricity price goes up a lot.

Next time I am going for FIXED rates.

when oil price go up, they will tell you that their procurement cost is based on oil price so need to raise the electricity price to you as well.

when oil price go down, they will tell you that they are burning pipeline gas and LNG so cannot lower elec price.

at one time Ohm had one plan which was 2-year at SP tariff -25% ... was thinking of that or Geneco 2-year fixed, in the end decided on Geneco 2-year fixed.

Smart move.

I am on the SP tariff -22% with Keppel.

So far I had 2 quarters down and 2 quarters up.

But the price down a bit only and the price up a lot lot more.

I am actually very surprised why this round SP tariff actually went up.

but I guess its a complex formula which only EMA understands.

It is based on average daily oil prices in the previous quarter according to what i have read.

Just make sure you don't sign up for fixed price  when the rate is at the highest.🤣
