SINGAPORE - The Elections Department (ELD) has appointed about 30,000 public officers as election officials and has called them up for training.

For the 2015 General Election, public servants were called up for training about 11 months before the polls were held.

Base on 2015 history, election was called eleven months after official training starts... [rolleyes]

Hmmmmm............... September 2019 ... [sly]

Don't think too much, maybe they are just running out of idea how to make use of the balanced Skills future credits? :D :D

BTW, such training to be given up to 2 - 3 years before election are not uncommon, as it is not a special skill that required refreshing training every year. So 2020 is still a more viable timeline, but snap election may still happen if they is a sudden change in leadership or economic climate.

They don't need to go to such lengths.

Just offer free chicken rice and free chartered buses will do.
