Anyone bought their car recently from Kah Motor on 7 July and got insurance rebate or intending to get their own insurance?

I don't think you can do that? If you insist, you might end up paying more overall. Bought cars from BM and KM and it's the same.

Furthermore, I don't think it would be a lot cheaper to source your own insurance. My dad, drove for 20 years+, merit cert, 50% NCD, insurance is about $750 from broker. With 0% NCD will be $1500.

I would advise you to take a 2-year insurance package from KM. If I didn't remember wrongly the 2-year package is $3200+, about $1600+ per year. It will then be cheaper than what you source yourself. Direct Asia I think is about $1700+ for 1 year with 0% NCD.

You need to pay more upfront for 2-year package but the advantage is you lock in the insurance premium. Since you are new driver, if suay suay kanna claim accident by someone, the premium will be damn jialat the next year if you only have 1-year package. Take it as buying assurance for 2 years.

Actually if one asks and SE say cannot discount how ah? LLST? Or bang table make a scene?

I think will get it if you ask? If not just change another SE or ask fellow bros here (those who got it) for the contact.

The difference is what to ask for only. Those who asked for freebies will get their 2CH dashcam and those who asked for cash discount might get $1k off.

I would say top up is a wise choice. You look at the last round of bidding. The demand far supercede the supply. If by paying $3000 can have a peace of mind why not? $3k out of $100k is a mere 3%. When you go restaurant and eat, do you complain about the 7% gst?

Those that ask you not to top up might have hidden agenda, especially they are also buying the car. When you top up you will affect other ppl chance of getting their car as AD will proritise your car instead

I would say wait for NEXT BID....  Aug Cat A slight more quota... demand will drop next month...

Maybe @theoldjaffa should consider this as his second car with his current Stinger.  [laugh]
