Locknload 5th Gear July 26, 2020 Share July 26, 2020 Should be Jonny Evans instead of Phil Jones in my above post (my bad), as I list them both in the same mould that ManU should be rid of, plus a few others for the next season. ↡ Advertisement
Weez911 Supersonic July 29, 2020 Share July 29, 2020 There are rumours of Jack Grealish, but is he worth the money and does it make sense to spend so much for a substitute for Bruno Fernandes and Pogba?
Locknload 5th Gear August 5, 2020 Share August 5, 2020 ManU 2 (Lingaard / Martial) - Lask 1(Europa League - Home) With a 5-goal lead, Ole gave his Team B the honors with Ighalo as pointman and Lingaard, Mata and Dan James in support with Romero in goal. Apart from some slick one-touch incisive passes, there was nothing in terms of clinical finishing and the 1st half ended 0-0. Just 9 minutes into the 2nd half, the Austrians scored but Lingaard replied 2 minutes later. It was substitute Martial who gave us the lead in the 88th minute but it is apparent that the nickname of 'flat-head' for Maguire rings true as his headers in the last few matches needs some 'pointed sharpening' for accuracy. Locknload 5th Gear September 19, 2020 Share September 19, 2020 ManU 1 (VDBeek) - Cry 3 (EPL - Home) With our players still settling down, Crystal Palace drew first blood in the 7th minute and went into defensive mode thereafter as although with 72% possession, we could not penetrate past their midfield and their bus in defence throughout the 1st half. A sub for James with Greenwood at the start of the 2nd half and new-signing Van Der Beek at the 67th minute for Pogba was followed by a penalty awarded to CP for Lindelof's handball and was retaken when De Gea moved off his line to give them a 2 goal lead. A debut goal by Van Der Beek in the 81st minute gave us some hope but when Zaha scored, it put the game and any hopes for a draw, to bed. Not a good start for Ole's first game in the new season!

No proper pre season They need to step up immediately if not season maybe over after a few games Looking at the other performing teams, arsenal, everton etc, will be tough for Man U even to get into top 4
Locknload 5th Gear September 26, 2020 Share September 26, 2020 ManU 2 (og / Rashford) - Bha 2 (EPL Away) Another slow start with more of possession but no penetrative moves to trouble Brighton Hove Albion, except for a goal by Greenwood that was disallowed. In fact, Brighton had more attempts at goal, with 2 shots hitting the posts and drew first blood when Bruno gave away a penalty, but he made amends when his free kick resulted in an own goal, helped with Maguire's lunge to make it 1-1 at half time. With some dramatic moments at the beginning of the 2nd half , with Brighton's penalty and Rashford's goal over-ruled by VAR , it was an a brilliant goal by Rashford who shimmied four times through the defenders to score but in the dying moments of extra-time, Brighton scored to make it a draw and winless for Ole's 2nd game in the Premier League. Post Match Score: ManU 3 - Bha 2 (Bruno's penalty won the game for ManU) A reprieve for us as I switched channels after the final whistle was blown - as 'Neal Maupay had given away the penalty with a handball, which led to a VAR review, after referee Chris Kavanagh had blown the fulltime whistle' / cna. My apologies!

Locknload 5th Gear September 30, 2020 Share September 30, 2020 ManU 3 (Mctominay / Mata / Pogba) - Bha 0 (League Cup - Away) The second stringers started against Brighton with Ighalo, Dan Janes and Van de Beek in front and Dean Henderson in goal, with the exception of Lindelof! A freekick by Mata found Mctominay who scored with a simple header and gave us the lead at the 44th minute. A double change for in the second half with Rashford and Pogba coming on for Ighalo and Dan James with Mata putting the game to bed in the 73rd minute. A deflected freekick from Pogba into goal confirmed our place in the quarter finals. A much better showing in this second consecutive meeting with Brighton, especially with the excellent save by Henderson, Bailly's good defending and Mata's good form showing promise for the games ahead. Locknload 5th Gear October 4, 2020 Share October 4, 2020 ManU 1 (Bruno-pen) - Tot 6 (EPL - Home) With this scoreline, JM has humiliated Ole and shown who's the boss! Playing from the back which JM expected and countered with high-pressing, Spurs ensured that control in midfield was key as once intercepted, their players could counter and score. Silly mistakes by Maguire and Bailly compounded the problem after Martial was sent off. The need for better defensive players is apparent, as mistakes when doing so has a price to pay. With this excellent showing and in a jam-packed week for Spurs, JM has shown what a master tactician he is and Ole has to learn from this shameful performance and wake up if we are going to make any headway in the future. Locknload 5th Gear October 17, 2020 Share October 17, 2020 (edited) ManU 4 (Maguire / Bruno / Wan Bissaka / Rashford) - Newcastle1 (EPL - Away) A reprieve for Ole as we got back to winning ways, especially when the last 3 goals were scored in the final 15 minutes that showed character and resolve when the score stood at 1-1. Although Bruno missed a penalty, he was the playmaker in making penetrative runs and pinpoint passes, especially the one to Rashford in the final minute. At last, a match that was joy to watch. Locknload 5th Gear October 20, 2020 Share October 20, 2020 ManU 2 (Bruno-pen / Rashford) - Psg 1 (Champions League - Away) A couple of good saves by De Gea in the first 12 minutes was testament to PSG's attacking play, with Neymar as their main threat. Lucky for Bruno who scored the penalty (with the total of 27 penalties awarded) in the 23rd minute, after missing his first try when their goalie moved off his line, and retaken after Martial was fouled in the box. Good control in the midfield from Mctominay with newcomer Alex Telles providing support on the left and Lindelof who was sturdy at defence, saw us up 1-0 at the end of the 1st half. An own goal by Martial early in the 2nd half gave PSG hope, but Pogba who replaced Telles provided an excellent pass for Rashford to score in the 87th minute to see us topping the group. GGMU! Locknload 5th Gear October 24, 2020 Share October 24, 2020 ManU 0 - Che 0 (EPL - Home) A sparkless 1st half with Chelsea having more of possession with no defining moments to trouble De Gea and a steady display by Maguire in keeping things tidy at the back with 0-0 score. An early change in the 2nd half, with Cavani / Pogba coming on for Mata / Dan James and later with Greenwood for Mctominay in the 82nd minute to hopefully add some sparkle in attack. Both teams were evenly matched and a point each was a fair conclusion. ↡ Advertisement
