Frankly i felt sorry for Mig, as Klopp was clearly bent on using Karius as no. 1, and was just waiting for the chance to effect it. But then Mig also 不争气,actually played so obviously badly in that 3-3 draw with gunners...

But Klopp is the one who's responsible so he has the final say.

Having sided and stuck with Karius few times liao, he has to be fair and treat Karius the way he treated Mig, otherwise he'll lose his moral authority liao lor...

Hope to have a decent back-up though, as you never know when will need to call on them...

agreed. Mig is a decent GK in most assessment. The problem is that he isn't the type of sweeper cum fast counter-attacking minded GK which Klopps likes.  Having said so, I also can't agree that Karius is this type either.

Alisson on the other hand fits the role well. His passing accuracy is almost 80%, which is very high for a GK. Most GK thumps the ball upfrield frequently and their passing accuracy are generally 30 - 50% only.

Alisson also did not commit mistakes which makes him very reliable. The key is whether he can retain the same near-perfectness in a more stressful league of the EPL.

People ask about Klopp statement about Pogba and it's a valid question.

Here is the answer.

Liverpool have made more transfer profit than any other Premier League club.

We never buy success.

It's more like we sell and not buy.

While I personally felt that the business that LFC has done in this transfer window has been most remarkable since a long long time, I still think there should be possibly one or two more additions for completeness sake.

An additional good Playmaker and/or CB will be good. The Playmaker can win us additional points when things don't go according to plan and when opposition so decides to park the bus. Naby Keita is a good addition and can be possibly mould to fill in this position. Besides, I also think Firminho can also fill in the playmaker role with DS filling in in Centre Forward role. Not sure what Klopp has in mind though.

A good and reliable CB to partner Van Dijk may also be good, especially when Joel Matip seems to be suffering from the after effects of an injury.

Other than that, it's time for LFC to get rid of some dead wood and balance our books.

tend to agree,

in an ideal world, Klopp should strengthen further.  However, my personal assessment is that it is quite unlikely given the nett spent is already so high this summer.

For CB, if Dejan is able to replicate his form in the WC, I think he is pretty good enough to partner VVD.

For CM, I think there are options in Keita, Lallana. Ox is obviously KO for the season so that is not great. I got a hunch that Klopp is going to adjust Shaqiri to the AM position in addition as a back up winger.  He has an eye for a pass and score most of his goals outside the penalty box. An area Pool did not do too well in the league last season. However, question mark is over his work rate and defensive abilities.

Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas are set to table a £12million offer for Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Half a mil less than Danny Ward.

yeah, I think should not add in too many players at the same time. Need time to gel.

Let's all pray for tofu boy to at least upgrade --> tau kwa. Slightly hardier  [laugh] Really wasted talent, it's such a joy to see him at the peak of his prowess

I still hope for an extra CB, but maybe with Fabinho as a specialist DM (that everyone is crying out for the past few years) he can shield the defense better

He should go. I think he'll make a very good GK in a smaller pond. Less pressure and condemnation  [:)]

Besiktas ?? Can swap with Vida + top up or not ?  ^_^

just watched (last half hour of) the City match.

Nothing too competitive, but a good run out. During the time i watched, Pool dominated and had numerous chances to seal the game but salah and mane are both still rusty...

Mane eventually scored a penalty in added time to win 2-1. Not a good kick, but maybe he decided where to put it only after seeing Joe Hart dived to one side...

Then he kept tidying his hair when teammates touched it when congratulating him [laugh]

For pre-season games, being rusty is acceptable as they have just ended their holidays after the extra exertion from World Cup. I'm sure they will get in to shape just in time for the season opener.

Whether competitive or not, who cares. But it is important that our beloved LFC keeps the winning mentality against City.

Man City now have 4 straight defeats to Liverpool in 7 months.

Long may it continue. Its like they spent a billion pounds and

still cannot buy a win against Pool.

pool should be grateful for the win.. cos in the 1st half. it could have easily conceded a couple more goals.  City fielded almost an entire team of youngsters.. Pool's team on paper was much stronger but still struggled.

It was only when Pool introduced Mane and Salah after the hour, that's when it took control of the game by scoring twice. Salah could easily had a hat trick.

That's true we do not have strength in depth.

Mane, Salah, Firmino don't play we only have Ings and Solanke.

We should buy that Paulalic guy from Dortmund.

this season, for the forward line, we should have Shaqiri, Sturridge and Solanke in the queue as backup. Hence, it looks decent.. not world beaters but definitely much healthier than last season.

Expect Ings and Origi to be gone before the window closes. I do not think they will feature much in Klopp's plan.

CB is my main concern for the start of the season as Matip is unlikely to be fit and Lovren still in holiday mood. Hence, we may play the first few weeks with Klavan or Gomez as CB.

i watched the highlights, and yes, i think first half we were lucky and City was dominant.

But when i tuned in live for 2nd half last 30 min, was surprised that City were defending most of the time.

Not only Salah, Mane also could - and should - have had a hattrick...

Heâs a good lad. Too bad things turned somewhat unpleasant with the club he made his name. CR7 also left with a sour taste...

its Real Madrid. the only person who left on a high is Zidane.
