Ian Wrightâs say on why Arsenal missed out on UCL.

Whilst he has some valid points esp on how Ramseyâ contract was allowed to wind down, sometimes itâs easy for people on the outside to pinpoint mistakes on hindsight.

Players these days have a lot of power n hold the upper hand when contracts are coming to an end. All teams face this, United with DDG, Chelsea with Hazard n Courtois previously, Spurs with Eriksen n Toby etc. Pool has been quite prudent in this aspect as they have signed up most of their payers on long term contracts but this also can backfire as if injury n loss of form happens, club still has to foot wages. Drinkwater at Chelsea is an eg of player on long term contract but not contributing.

Sarriball plays 3 midfield so no place for not only Drinker but also Kante.

Sarriball will always play his son in midfield the rich man Joe Allen.

:D

meanwhile harry maguire might cost more then VVD as both man u and man c chasing him..

crazy amount...........

That Koulibaly of Napoli also quoted at £84mil, doesn’t look that solid to me but then again I watch him only handful of times.

crazy amount...........

The reality of football business.

When demand exceeds supply for limited quality players in specific positions, the price will fly.

Liverpool's VVD purchase in Jan 2018 for a record £75m was deemed high; but now it seems justified and perhaps "cheap". Even more so that Pool has now won a 6th European cup.

Awaiting to see how Harry Maquire's transfer deal turns out. lol

Sigh... why ban them. Should have pressured English FA to deduct 2 points from them in the season just ended. That would have been better...

Juventus was relegated for match fixing.

City’s “crime” is on FFP non compliance. There are rules on punishment for breach of FFP which ranges for fines to being barred from UEFA competitions. There is no indication on points deduction nor relegation.

That said, I think this is the second breach by City who were heavily fined previously n hence they will be thrown the book for sure n debarment from UCL the likely outcome since it’s a repeated offence.

Whilst I applaud UEFA for applying the rules, I hope they are consistent in their application of justice cos I feel they target EPL clubs more than the big Spanish 2 eg Barca was found guilty of irregular Youth recruitment n banned 2 transfer windows from buying players but it was temporarily uplifted whilst they appealed but Chelsea who got the same punishment for the same crime was disallowed from the ban being temporarily uplifted whilst they appealed
