Still discussing about putting on number plates on cyclists ah? Can forget it lah. I can tell you all here the effort and costs to do it is not worthwhile to the authorities, and even slapping on number plates to ALL bicycles the problem also won't be solved.

Let me give you an example. It's mandated by law to send all registered vehicles for inspection, and by right odometer tampering can be made entirely illegal right away with enforcement easily done. Yet, this blatant practice is still ongoing with authorities turning a blind eye to it. Enforcement on tens of thousands of bicycles running all over the island? You wait long long.

Unless they got balls to implement COE on bicycles lah, then for sure you can BET they die die will enforce.

Because the driver know he will be in deep shit if he bang the reckless rider even though he’s not at fault.

I would do the same.

I will brake hard and hope for the best

but most likely I will have to help call ambulance and go inside one week

Mandai is still a 3 lane major road.

During weekdays?Then that's not right.

They should be sleeping or getting ready to work.🤣

Encountered twice, at Mandai around weekday 7am. Couple of AMDKs selfish turds

A lot of times drivers think that cyclist is riding leisurely because they are chit-chating.

In fact, these riders could be doing 40km/h and still chit-chating.

I suspect he jealous because he can't do that on weekday😂

They are not even pedaling hard and sitting quite upright.

7am very early leh.

Usually the really peak hours at start after 830am to 930am.

The AMDK maybe really ride to work type.

But if Mandai on weekend morning will sure see the mass group rides scenario 🤦😅

Downhill or uphill?
They could be downhill coasting at 40km/h.

On flat, they could be doing 40km/h without pedaling hard with the right gearing.

7am is my drive to work, mandai road is flowing  traffic but all 3 lanes will be occupied. Definitely don't need these self-centred asses to add to the mix, if one mishap when a car is overtaking them then the whole road will be jammed

They are not that fast. Thomson road near thomson plaza, slight downslope I think. Holding up a bus. Wtf, pissed off even when I talk about it now

Which traditional AMDK residential area and which workplace is linked by Mandai?

Don't tell me the Mandai Zoo.... 😛

Thomson Road/Mandai Road speed limit is already 60-70kph.

Expecting other motorist to share the road with them and giving them the 1.5m space is effectively slowing down the already congested road to slow down to <40kph (assuming that is their avg top speed) when vehicles especially larger commercial ones needing to "eat into" the next lane just to pass the cyclist. Mind you, our local road lanes (and carpark lots) are already one the narrowest in the world if you have driven overseas.

I am sure most seasoned drivers know the frustration when they attempt to "share the road" during peak traffic hours.

So if you tell me these cyclist are cycling for leisure/training and not as a transport to work, it makes them even more of self serving entitled s-oles.

I agree with you that ppl who cycle during peak hours hinder traffic.

Ppl who cycle for leisure/training usually do it really early, like before 7 am.

LTA/TP had received complaints of group ride more than 10 along Mandai Road btw 5am and 5:15am.

I regular use Thomson Road btw 6:30am and 7am.  The traffic at that hour is light.

If traffic is able to flow beyond 40km/h, i will not consider it as congested.

AMDK could be living in 6th Ave.

From 6th Ave to Selatar Airport

This distance could be 20km or less.

😂

20km really is nothing.. leisurely abt 45 mins on a 451 foldie..

on road bike with their powerful leg is less than 30 mins

My car avg speed shows 31km/h.

My cycling avg also 31km/h🤣

Shorter rides like 40km ride can be 33km/h.

Not sure how the car average speed is counted. So a lot of time our car trips are start stop start stop.....🤦🤣🤣
