Dinner just now at home with old cucumber soup. I especially liked the scallop dish, though I mistook the pig skin in the curry dish for fish maw, and surprisingly couldn't taste the difference until my sister pointed out that the pig skin was nice and I was like "er ... got meh?", as I do not like to consume any animal skin except for that of fish and would not have eaten the pig skin had I known :) Dessert was chocolate cake; time to run on the treadmill tomorrow :)

My best friends meet up over weekend.
Bistecca

The antipasti were quite average except the fresh burrata which was very good. The octopus, scallops etc nothing special.

Florentine steak (aka the porterhouse). Excellent. I really prefer Australian beef rather than usda prime.
The tomahawk was not as good. The sides were OK. Grilled veggie. Their fries also average.

Usually the porterhouse is a bit hit & miss. For example, wolfgang's ribeye is better than it's porterhouse. But for bistecca, i would definitely go for the steak florentine.

Recently, my wife learnt to make flower jelly. Look like an art to me.

Good to look at, taste so so only, just like normal jelly.

Are they real flowers?

Are they real flowers?

No, these flowers were injected into it using syringes. It's jelly into jelly.

I did not witness the making process, but my wife told me it's very tedious, require lots of patience and careful hands.
