Pool fell to a 0-2 defeat at Red Star Belgrade n put their qualification to the k/o rounds in jeopardy. Away to PSG n home to Napoli are now must wins for them. Pool squad not as strong as I initially thought as with a few players out, they looked wobbly n tired.

Spurs came back from a goal down to beat PSV 2-1 at Wembley n to keep their faint hopes of qualifying alive. Next up is a must win game against Inter Milan at home.

Liverpool had 2 very difficult away games.

Away at Arsenal who had most of the possession and drain the energy of the players

and away at Red Star in a very hostile stadium.

The other thing is Pool not have the best of luck at the moment.

Goal at Arsenal wrongly ruled as offside and Sturridge missing an open goal

with his good left foot. And also hitting the bar and posts. Success is a matter

of inches. If the goals went in we would look a lot better in the tables now.

:D

Great comeback by Man United to beat Juventus 2-1 in Turin after going a goal down. Fantastic opener by CR7 n the Red Devils only replied in the last 4mins thru a Mata free kick n a deflected Young goal in injury time. Gives United some buffer with 3rd placed Valencia.

City thrashed Shakhtar 6-0 and RM also won 5-0 at Plzen. So only Spurs amongst the 4 EPL teams facing difficulty in progressing though Pool also not assured as they have 2 tough games coming up to ensure qualification.

Juventus going all out to win UCL n that’s why they bought CR7 n the return of Bonucci.

Napoli has gone from strength to strength, first under Sarri n now Ancelotti. Roma always gives a good run for your money n Inter are no slouches with Icardi particularly prolific.

So yes, good showing by Serie A.

Both Man C and Man U qualified for the second round of the UCL with late goals from Aguero and Felliani respectively. City drew 2-2 at Lyon whilst United won 1-0 at home to Young Boys.

Pool and Spurs hoping to join them or at least take a step nearer the k/o stages with wins against PSG and Inter respectively tonight. Tough matches for both the EPL teams but they are on form.

Spurs kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the k/o stages of the UCL with a 1-0 win over Inter at Wembley this morning. They hv to match or better Inter’s result on match day 6 to go thru n as such victory over Barca will confirm progress whatever Inter does.

Pool lost 1-2 at PSG to put their hopes of qualifying in danger. They need to beat Napoli 1-0 or by 2 goals to go thru but if PSG drop points at Red Star then any victory would send Pool thru. So all to play for on match day 6!

This year’s UCL seem quite even with some very strong teams left. It will take an extremely consistent n talented team with abit of luck to be the eventual winner. Barca, RM, PSG, Juve, City n possibly Pool seems the stand out teams but don’t write off underdogs like Porto, Ath Madrid n Roma.

Specifically for Italian clubs, both Juve n Roma r thru n Napoli could join them.

Pool with a late fantastic save from Allison got their 1-0 win over Napoli to qualify for the UCL k/o rounds. Spurs made it 4/4 for EPL teams by squeezing in a late equaliser to draw 1-1 at Barca thru Moura. Inter had themselves to blame by only being able to draw 1-1 with PSV in Milan.

Congrats to the 4 EPL sides and if they get a good draw, hopefully they all can get into the last 8, good luck!

A new gk and a new defender nia.

Pools totally different from last 2 season.

Its all about buying the right players that work for your team

So far most of pools new players is spot on performing very well esp the def.

Its the same thing as man c.

They brought alot of players almost change the whole team.

But all can work to the manager tactics.

Man u also buy alot of players.

But all buy wrongly. Cannot work.

Thats why they struggling now.

Aw also fail to make his new signing work.

Thats y asn drop out from top 4.

Chelsea 1 season buy wrongly spend on bakayoko and morata . They drop out from top 4 last season

Ya agreed Pool’s buying of World’s most expensive defender n 2nd most expensive goalie was money worth spending n brought them up to next level. City also have invested well.

I would say Arsenal n Chelsea had a mixed bag. Some good signings but some not so good as well. Spurs didn’t buy any so no comment but yes it’s United that has fared poorly in the tfr market. Fred, Pogba, Bailly, Sanchez amongst others have all not been up to mark n it’s reflected in United’s position in the table.

3 EPL teams vs 3 Bundesliga teams. I think n hope the EPL teams will go thru.

Bayern is not the team they were as an ageing squad plus transition to a different coach has seen them slide down the table n yes Dortmund seems to have taken over Bayern’s mantle but i still think Spurs has got the guile to beat them as the Londoners have slowly gained experience n know how after a horrid start to their UCL campaign.

Schalke not in the same league as City so i think that one is a formality though City cant be complacent.

If all 3 English teams cannot go thru then just Liverpool can lah.

Cannot be too greedy in life.
