Ya. Still the big mouth belongs to Audi DNA, put it into any make, it will look like a pirated copy of the original one, and that's what happening with Hyundai.

I still can't help to say the 1st generation fluid sculpture design by Hyundai's own designer was indeed a success because it was easily recognisable as a Hyundai and not something pirated.

Big Mouth wise, Mazda and Toyota did a great job in making the mouth belongs to theirs, not like Hyundai, trying here and there but ended up not here and there. ð

You mean the newly launched 7 or 8 seater SUV for the States? That has a bigger and uglier mouth (my personal view, some might like it) . Edited by Heartbreakid

You mean the 7 or 8 seater? That is for US market. Ya. It has a bigger mouth. ð

Woo... They should learn from Singapore. Print a piece of paper 30K.

It is for Chinese and US markets. Not Singapore.

deduct 2k each from the above models and that is the latest price after last round of COE.

Just check with the SE. Basic model stands at $73,999 and the S model stands at $78,999. U will still enjoy the 5+2 years extended warranty and 7 years Free Service. This package will be taken out once the Avante passed inspection. Anyone purchase the Avante after it has passed inspection will not be given 7 years Warranty and 7 years free service.

Just wondering why the price did not drop even when COE drop

If the OMV is close to that of  the out going Elantra(about $12k) , then the total cost base on current COE will be about $57k only,  it is not worth buying it unless one goes for the look only. So lets wait for the OMV and see how it goes.    Now Hyundai is turning the tide around , they are selling better than Toyota, so KM is  doing what BM did to their customer before.

Not 57k, only 51.7k for total cost base on 12k omv.

no reason to drop the price as

1) seem current buying trend can accept this price level.

2) is still cheaper than Japan brand.

Turbocharged

In a nut shell, a tad unsafe if driven hard... never a good idea to take it on the nshw than..

Torsion beam is not unsafe. Having it doesn't mean you cannot driven hard.

A properly tuning torsion beam can still corner well. Some hot hatches used torsion beams too like the FN civic type R, polo GTI, Colt turbo and Swift Sport.

I won't say that all those small petrol turbos are good... many of the Continental brands in a bid to push power output to drive a larger car and quell the intense heat produced by the turbo, spray fuel to cool the engine resulting in higher than declared fuel consumption and very poor emission levels. There are many attendant issues with those engines... I read an article on Autocar that the most reasonable small petrol turbo engine capacity which is both powerful enough and saves fuel plus gives good emission is the 1.6 turbo... anything smaller is a waste of time. That's also why some of these engines which used to power larger cars have slowly disappeared... they fail the new inspection regimes in Europe and US miserably...

I don't know how these  small 3 cylinder 12V engine can move the car. And to pay $136K for a 999cc car?

Kia Stonic 1.0 turbo

Hyundai Kona 1.0 turbo

VW Polo 1.0 turbo

Seat Arona 1.0 turbo - SUV  [shakehead]

Seat Leon Tourer 1.0 turbo

Audi A3 sedan 1.0 turbo - $136K  :a-fun:

Power isn't too bad for the small cars... but the engine works really very hard... not very good for longevity... or reliability...
