When one is on the road as a travelling salesman from town to town, simple food is all one can find most of the time, nothing fanciful. But then its always the simple food that makes one feel good and fulfilling, like comfort food. However each country, society, culture has its own comfort food. For me here a bowl of hot boiled rice anytime is always comforting.

Today having simple boiled rice and an omelette

Thai omelette is always fluffy and crispy on the outside

Soft and moist inside (today's omelette is stuffed with minced pork)

All these for 50 baht or $2.20

Best Japanese sashimi in Bangkok - Sushi Tsukishi at Thaniya Street. This is as close to those high end Japanese restaurants you can find in Japan as it can be.

Looks yummy despite it being a simple fare.

U said it, oftentimes simple meals are comfort food, down to earth and reminds one of home, at least for me. Mum's porridge, fluffy eggs omelette with onions.

Thanks for sharing. U are blessed, enjoying life to its fullest.

Safe ride over there too. Great weekend and pls keep sharing your meals. U eat we look.

Riceberry is a strain of rice very similar to your black rice or what we call it locally "or bee beh"

Here's an article of this rice - https://www.chatelaine.com/food/how-to/riceberry-superfood/

Kam sia for the link on riceberry. It may already be here on our shelves but i did not look out for it.

Will go find and try it. Reading the article on just the rice already makes me hungry and
