Just ban the f**king goddamn device already. Outside road hazard, inside fire hazard.

If an agency/stat board is ineffective, the solution is to change the people heading/running it, not to hunt around for another agency.

If the minstars/MPs don't know/unwilling to solve the issues, the solution to me is obvious too.

If want to complete ban, garment need to step in and follow gun laws, a buy back scheme.. Buy back all PMDs and destroy them once and for all!!!!

Actually there's a way to solve this problem, which is to build dedicated pathways for PMDs/bicycles

There is a dedicated path for PMDs and motorized bikes already. It goes straight to hospitals / cemetery.

(edited)

If the road is several km long, yes this might work. However, where there are pedestrians, it is usually in town/estates and there are junctions every 50m to 10m. The bike/PMD traffic would be crisscrossing with the foot traffic, throw in cars/buses, the traffic junctions would be a nightmare.

Just look at Shanghai where there are bike lanes (for motorized scooters also), it is dangerous for the uninitiated pedestrians. There they also bo hiu the pedestrians.

Frankly, if there's no enforcement, having these separate lanes will also not work. The person that thought of PMDs and hoping that people will regulate and do the right things is just day dreaming; very typical of fresh scholars without any experience.

And pls make the PMD/bicycle users/owners pay for this, for its usage if not for its construction.

Highly unlikely this PMD issue will be resolve in the near term.. unless very drastic measures are taken

But didn't Berlin , Paris took drastic measures? PMD were allowed to terrorised the public, after public outcry, banned or restricted. Our gahment still hang up on face saving. After presenting and selling  positive impact on PMD to their boss and their boss to their bosses, can only report success, cannot admit failure.

No let up from the straits times on pmd issue. Another article today.

https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/call-for-more-to-be-done-against-errant-pmd-users

So much for their argument of only  a few errant riders tarnish their image, shouldn't ban them. Now ST has proven every rider is breaking the speed rule, interview with them is either they pretend to don't know or don't care. Every one of them is errant.
