I changed the tires today, from Turanza T005A to Potenza S007A

initial impression is stiffer side wall and higher tire noise (new vs 53k km)

New Tyres already noisier than Old Tyres,i wonder reach Mid Life...the Noise will be Louder.?

What you're experiencing is expected as T005A is more of a comfort touring tyre whereas S007A is more of a high performance tyre. As such, there will always be compromises on comfort and noise levels with the latter. I've had them previously too - They're pretty good tyres I must say! Good grip in dry and wet, although the downside is that the wear rate is pretty high - If you managed to last 53K with your T005A, you'll probably find that the S007As will probably last around 35K to 38Ks tops. But despite the wear, the grip's still pretty good.

Confirm.

1 is comfort

1 is performance.

But s007a is consider quiet already if u compare to most performance  tyres

thanks for sharing, it's good to know that it can last 35k to 38k

this will be the last set of tires before the COE of my car expire in 1.5 years/40k km

my car went through 4 sets of tires since new

Continental CSC5 - 95,000km (5 tires rotation)

Bridgestone GR100 - 51,000km

Michelin PS4 - 47,000km

Bridgestone T005A - 53,000km

it is nosier than the T005A but not as bad as the PS4

maybe not much noisier in terms of dB,  I should say it hums differently comparing to the old set

very surprised that CSC5 lasted so long at 95k km for you.  found CSC5  wear rate to be quite high.

mini review after 1,500km

non expressway driving is harsher, rolling noise is very minimum but the stiffer sidewall really transfer road irregularities into the cabin

expressway driving, this is where the S007A shines, steering feel is much sharpen, the car tracks so much better, very confidence inspiring

my wife (the numb one) has the same feedback as me, I quote her words - the car feels heavier and stick on the ground
