2018/2019 New Nissan Sylphy

Hi all,

Just collected my new Sylphy two days ago from TC. Overall a way better upgrade from my ancient Avante.

Can i check if anyone knows why there is a beep emitting everytime i drive over a hump or uneven road? I thought this might be from the dashcamera that TC installed foc.

Is there also a sylphy whatsapp group?

It is due to the dashcam setting to remind the driver of bumpy road condition and any shock incurred due to hitting hard objects on the roads. You can turn off the Shocking Icon in the dashcam setting and the "Beep" sound will be no more. Edited by Rivervale_2009

This is the scariest part. This looks so old fashioned. To say its dated is being extremely modest and kind to the dealer. And mind you this is the "premium" model.

what i do like is the spaciousness of the cabin.

boot space also good.

bros who are currently driving the new sylphy, feedbacks? otherwise im tempted to check out the mazda 6 but the difference in price is quite a bit and im not exactly a petrol head. just a point a to b family guy who needs a practical car but alamak that interior is really very oldie, looks older than my age  [laugh]  [:p]

Yep. Local sylphy "facelifted" 2 times by tan chong but effectively still the same one that was first launched 2012. The actual facelifted b17 already selling elsewhere since 2016.

This 2019 sg version only updated the exterior. The interior remains the same. I cannot think of any competitive advantage it has over its competitors. Note that i am driving b17 original non facelifted.

How to compete with such a sedan?

If there's a Toyota Altis to choose with this, I rather choose Altis.

So far haven't seen any facelifted Slyphy on the roads yet.

Two years plus ago there were plenty of slyphy and teana on the road. Now hardly see them.

I reckon face-lift should be round the corner.

Slyphy ancestor should be the sunny. A MIJ workhorse that don't breakdown at all.
