I am surprised by BM using a sub-standard 7" aftermarket infotainment display for its variant, which seems same for both grades from the brochure. In Japan the facelifted Camry comes with standard 9"display across all variants. Looking at the pictures below you will see the difference. Even its pre-facelift Camry come with bigger screen.

And the difference between the Standard and Elegance grade can be seen from the last picture. There are quite a number of differences, most notably the body-kit, blind-spot detection, ventilated front seats, leather seats and auto steering wheel adjustment, dual chrome exhaust tips, powered front seat adjustment, scuff plates. Whether sll these add up to $16k is subjective lah.

Sharing my own collection of different sizes HU for the FL version and must stress that I'm not related to Vincar just making comparison of the HU sizes only. Next I will be quite interested to know whether can change to aftermarket HU as I'm eyeing on Kenwood 10.1" DMX9720XS and Kenwood got their own brand 360° bird’s-eye view cam to go along with that HU.

@Rev_zone Borneo Motors one really looks cheap and after-market.

Standard model as least must give 7" and Elegance 9" then people will buy. Anyone knows that ugly piece the screen so small got how many inches cos it looks like a size of a mobile phone to me?

Nope, mine only AS but don't know need to wait for how long. BM very confident keep saying their car 3 weeks can cleared inspection and collect.

Like that also consider very fast. Their calendar suppose to arrive 30/31 July but SE said usually will be in 2 weeks earlier so looking at it around 1 full month more than enough for their car. AD got express lane can get faster clearance?

I went to BM Ubi to check out the new Camry last weekend just to compare after taking delivery of the Mazda 6 several weeks back.

The Elegance model in the showroom looked quite impressive, and despite lots of plastic, still had a decently luxurious feel. However, it really cannot compare to the Mazda which is a complete step up from the Camry. I really disliked the red leather on display though. The SE informed me that the Elegance leather is factory fitted but the Standard is locally fitted.

For the test drive, I was given the Standard version, and the moment I went inside, my buyer's remorse completely disappeared. It felt cheap, plasticky and uninviting. The whole interior felt like it was not put well together. The seats were bloated and weirdly out of place. The drive was decent though given that its a 2.5L with good power delivery and responsiveness especially at low speeds when its powered by the Electric motor. The Mazda can't really compare since its a 2.0L engine instead - the Mazda is admittedly underpowered. I was unable to test the NVH much given the short test routes. Unfortunately the interior was a complete turn off. Even my FIL who came to kaypo with me couldn't wait to get back into the Mazda.

I don't want to sound like I am advocating for Mazda, but if they still carried the 2.5L, I would vote for the Mazda any day.

@arataka Quite disappointed to hear that. Camry is supposed to be a premium product. Either competitors have caught up or Toyota had lost their game. Camry was well known for good quality and comfortable ride.
