Just sent-in my Camry Hybrid for 1K servicing at BM. Mineral oil change is free but I chose to pay for the Synthetic one.
I read online that this engine uses 0-16W oil rating, but BM used 5-30W on this change.
Not sure if this will have any implications?
What oil rating have you been using on your camry hybrid?

Factory filled with 0W-16 GF6B Oil,what do you think.?Borneo at least need to put in 0W-20 GF6A Oil...better tell them drain it out...Vincar's Workshop put in 0W-20 GF6A Oil,i already not happy with them.

AD also can put wrong engine oil? Or they don't even know what oil to put. Better ask them to change like what @ER-3682 said, if not FC might be affected. Worse still, wait major parts spoil then jialat.

Service guy kept promoting this Motul 5W-30 oil or use free mineral one.

I now checked the manual that 0W-16 is factory recommended oil, but 5W-30 is also an acceptable option.

Anyone serviced at BM that used 0W-16 on their hybrids?

I would be shocked if BM doesn't stock the 0W-16 oil.

"Acceptable..but best avoid"...tell them at least put 0W20 Oil..it will spoil the Car in the long Run.

0W-16 mandate is a north america thingy because of harsh winter.

For SG market, usually there is a range of different engine oil viscosity acceptable to Toyota.

They are listed in the manual. RTFM

If Borneo don't have 0W20 Oil,Seems like Borneo's Servicing Centres are a Decade behind time..my 2013 Mazda 6 using this Oil...Mazda Agent already using this Grade of Oil since 2012..on the CX-5.

Toyota's master technician swears by 0W-16 oil for the Dynamic Force Engines, which include all Camry from 2018 (Hybrid and non-Hybrid), and Lexus ES.

See 'lubrication' at 6.30 mark.
