How can a light rail system serve 10k passengers per hour?

With a every 3 minute departure, that would mean 20 departures/arrivals in 1 hr. And means a train would need to carry 500 passengers per trip?
WIth a 2min departure, that would still mean 330+ passengers departing every 2 mins.

And how many lanes and manpower needed to clear 10k people per hour? Doubt currently both sides can even clear 5k/hr

DepartUre and arrival is two Thing right

so in 1 hr based on 3 min interval there will be 20 departure and 20 arrival?

so total will be 40 trips in one hour?

so one trip about 250 passengers

the bottleneck will be and always be custom clearance .... this need to be solved even with auto-gate

Let's assume that autogate takes 2mins to clear each individual.

To clear 10k/hr, it will need 333 autogate.

😂

Based on the article Thaiyo posted, it is likely to mirror existing LRT line in KL.  That means there will be 6 cart.

With RTS Link, there is NO car jam.

During peak hour, there is always ppl jam + car jam.

By the way, ICA autogate is running on Windows 98/2000.

Some lines in taipei are light rail. Actually in a straight line, they are really quite fast. Much faster than our LRT haha [laugh]
But i think is max 4 cars.

The system needs to come pre-built to handle capacity spike like during festive seasons where surge in border travels can be expected.
