Which detailer provides service to clean seat selts? My beige seat selts were dirty and stained. Quotation given to replace 7 seat belts was $780... too expensive for me...

i think with the current freakin hot weather (my car temp inside in open car park was 57 degrees) so even if you hand wash with detergent and tooth brush and some bleach they should come out and dry pretty fast, just need to " some elbow grease" as you have to put some pegs or clips to hold out the seat belt, i do it like once in 5 years but anyways the dirt or stains is around the front part of the buckle and maybe centre of seat belt only

57 degrees? That very hot... Most of the time parked in covered carpark, temp was 27-8 degrees. Anyway ordered a 12v hair dryer.. hopefully it is useful in drying the belt. Mine is beige, that y dirt is more visible. Never buy a car with beige interior...

just try cleaning it using soap, sponge or a small brush.  It will be cleaner than before. Drying wise, just use a tower to squeeze hard on the belt to reduce the amount of water, next park the car under hot sun, i dont believe there is anything that will not get dried when a car is parked under hot sun.

my thought is dont be aggressive initially, just try it on one belt  first and see the effect.  Leave it for a few days before you start doing it on the rest. By so doing, you could be more focused on what you are doing. And you wont feel stress to speed things up. Even if you make a mistake, the problem is confined to just one belt.  Once you see the result of the first belt, you would know how to do it better on the next three, you have more confident and more motivated to do so.

ya. or use those carpet foam cleaner with a wet rag and try cleaning. likely it is only one part that is dirty since not the entire belt is fully extended when in use.

One more, pull the seat belt all the way to maximum length, close the door and leave only the seat belt outside the car. You can clean all you like without contaminating your car seat

Bro,

Later give you some points to proceed. However, please enlighten me how you got 7 seat belts stained and to the extend of need to replace?

I never have such an incident before, not even with one seat belt. But I know my wife will pull out the seat belt and clean with damp cloth and clip to stop it from going back to dry it. At least this is what we do to keep the car clean. [drivingcar]
