Agree, the big A Class rear end  makes it looks less elegance if not cheap, lacks the bold appeal. The front is ugliest than Audi because of the excessive grill.

Interior wise  , because of  too much AI and touch pad control, end up the interior looks so cheap like a B&B car or  cheap EV, the only thing I could see is the boring aircon vents. The large touch pad and the instrument panel behind the steering are poorly integrated with the front console, the overall appearance of the entire console looks like an after make mounting . Hope it is my feeling of sour grapes because I cannot afford one. 😅😅😅

Front and interior from Audi, screen from Tesla, rear from Kia. Now it's a follower rather than trend setter.

Will pass. 😆

Ps. Any one notice the photos are taken in a scrap yard? Maybe someone in China hammered this together from scrap parts!

There have been recent reports that the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic could force Mercedes to delay the launch of the S-Class until next year, but the firm’s chairman, Ola Kallenius, has insisted that it is on track.

The first official image of the new S-class, which goes under the internal codename W223, reveals its conventional styling. Key elements include a prominent chromed grille with three horizontal blades and angular headlamps with three projector beams.

Describing it as a "technological tour de force", Mercedes-Benz chairman, Ola Källenius, says the company has put its "brightest minds and most creative people" to work on its new flagship model.“It’s a completely new level in terms of artificial intelligence and needs-based electrification,” he said.

The Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series rival is set to receive a variety of drivetrain options, including 48-volt mild-hybrid petrol and diesel units and new plug-in hybrid powertrains

Production of the new S-class is planned to commence in September 2020 at Mercedes-Benz’s Factory 56 in Sindelfingen, Germany. It will be joined by a slightly smaller pure electric EQS model at the same facility in 2021.

Commenting directly on the Telsa Model S and Jaguar XJ-challenging EQ S for the first time, Källenius said it would use CO2 neutral battery cells sourced from an unnamed supplier.

The partial reveal of the S-Class comes as speculation mounts that the chairman of Mercedes-Benz’s AMG performance car division, Tobias Moers, is set to depart the company to take up the position of CEO at British car maker, Aston Martin.

This is the rear of the W223? Looks Korean-ish without the 3 pointed star on, something about the shape of those tail lamps.

Design so bad it must be fake one lah - this photo is shot at a junkyard. So the fake S-class may be about to be scrapped after fooling the journalists.

The teaser campaign for the next Mercedes-Benz S-Class continues. Actually, this isn’t much of a teaser since we’ve already seen a preview of this technology. We’re talking about the very cool augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD) the new luxury flagship will feature, but whereas previous glimpses were part of larger teaser vids, this new clip posted to Facebook is all about the AR system. And it’s creepy cool.

What is creepy cool? In short, it’s seeing a computer-generated image of an arrow projected onto the windshield that swoops, banks, and generally flies across the glass while you navigate a roundabout. It’s red lines outlining the edge of a corner as you go around. It’s weird glowing lights appearing under cars you’re following. And yes, it’s floating checkered flags hovering at places you mark as destinations. These are all functions of the Merc’s AR-HUD that we see in this new video.

We should further clarify that the creepy aspect of this is just temporary. Seeing such animated actions on the windscreen certainly makes for a futuristic experience, much like the way we felt using augmented reality on our phones for that inaugural round of Pokémon Go. But just like the shock of seeing fictional creatures hopping around city streets faded, so will this. All that will remain is the cool factor, and we can’t deny the cool factor of having specific intersections and guided directions highlighted in a manner such as this.

It’s one part of a technological tour-de-force that will be the next-generation S-Class. The interior will offer up to five digital screens, with the literal centerpiece being the central 12.8-inch infotainment screen. The driver gets a fully digital instrument cluster, and passengers can have individual screens that can share what’s seen on the main screen in front.

We don’t have much longer to wait for the new Mercedes to arrive. The next-generation S-Class is slated to debut in September. In the meantime, stay tuned for more S-Class teasers.

This is very cool but I think there is too much info on the window pane, and may compromise safety of pedestrians and other road users.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-class sedan will have an interior that's full of large touchscreen displays.

It'll also come standard with new interactive LED lightning that responds to driver assistance systems.

The new S-class debuts on September 2 and should arrive in the U.S. sometime in 2021 starting at around $95,000.

Mercedes-Benz is giving us another glimpse inside the new S-class sedan ahead of its September debut. The flagship sedan's interior will be dominated by huge screens with the central, vertically oriented touchscreen display taking up almost the entire center stack, and it will also have new interactive LED lighting that responds to driver-assistance systems.

The new S-class can be had with up to five screens, which Mercedes says are 10 times brighter than the previous generation and can be adjusted via "Hey Mercedes" voice commands. There's the 12.8-inch central, tilted OLED display, which is the center of attention, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, which are both standard. The rear-seat entertainment package adds two 11.6-inch screens on each seatback as well as a 7.0-inch MBUX infotainment tablet for the rear passengers.

Contrary to leaked images we've seen of the new S-class, which was equipped with Mercedes's new Supersport steering-wheel design from the new E-class, this S is fitted with the Luxury steering wheel, which has three spokes and is meant to be shaped like a calla lily. The automaker's new touch-sensitive steering wheels tell the car's driver-assistance systems if the driver's hands are on the wheel, and the new S-class should offer Level 3 autonomy, according to Mercedes-Benz's CEO.

In addition to the new touch-sensitive steering wheels, the 2021 S-class will come standard with new interactive LED interior lightning that's integrated into the car's driver assistance features. For example, if a car is in the S-class's blind-spot, a red light will flash to alert the driver. There's also visual feedback via the lights when adjusting the climate control and using the "Hey Mercedes" voice commands through the new MBUX infotainment system. The S-class also comes standard with an air balance package with a built-in ionizer and active fragrance.

An available Warmth and Comfort package adds energizing comfort control and energizing coach. The comfort controls includes Refresh, Vitality, Warmth, Joy, and Comfort interior modes, which adjusts things such as the car's climate control and massaging seats. And they work through the voice assistant, so you can say "Hey Mercedes, I am stressed," and Joy mode will activate. Passengers can also automatically adjust their seating position to their height, and Mercedes added near-ear speakers in the front seats.

We'll learn more details about the 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-class when it debuts on September 2. It should arrive in the U.S. sometime in 2021 starting at around $95,000.
