just sharing my personal views, can be wrong also as there are many fluctuating factors to consider, but so far quite accurate for past few years. I don't see anything major that can push up pricing maybe at least till the next policy (if any) is out.

errr ... how about the shrinking COE supply?

Already mentioned there are alot of fluctuating factors. This is just one of them. COE supply is not constant, will always be up and down and the incoming supply is still consider large at least till end year.

Won't be a lot since many renewed their COEs for 5 years for the past few years.

My take is the frenzy of fresh buying and replacement has peaked in 2nd half of 2018 at the back of good economic performance in 2018.

Our manufacturing PMI is nose-diving fast and economic outlook has worsened considerably this year.  Hence, potential car buyers will be more cautious.

Therefore, I think Cat A stands a good chance of stabilising at around $25k at least until the mid of this year.

Singapore Manufacturing PMI

Singapore economy slows to 3.2% growth in 2018 as Q4 growth falls to 1.9%; more easing seen for 2019

You all think our budget will touch on COE or car ownership?

Budget is more about giving out goodies after taking in all the monies. It includes revised Government revenue and expenditure projections for the current financial year, as well as planned Government revenue and expenditure for the upcoming financial year. Don't remember any mentioned of COE related for past years budget, unless they wanna give out free COE for those low incomes.  [laugh]

Iirc, ARF changes were announced during one of the budget. Of course, gst changes will also affect car price

Doubt it but never say never. The last time when it was announced of the 30% and 40% downpayment required for car ownership you know what happened right haha

Its election year so yeah anything is possible. Dangling carrots is one of their fav tricks. Just pay back later ;)

Now that Cat A is hovering at the low end and didn't increase much, not sure why so many cars price increase a few k. Hmmm

I noticed that too unless ADs know something we don't ... at the end of the day ... the COE is a fairly controlled market
