If by ' one of the dealers ' you mean PML ,  it is advised to forget all the 3rd party cams under warranty . You will lose your electrical /electronic / battery warranty as recent incidents have proven unless you de-kit every time you go for servicing .

Yes I meant not voiding PML warranty. Wow that's really crazy. Is there even a real risk when having a dashcam and battery pack connected only to the cigarette lighter socket? Isn't it just like charging your phone? 😑

Having a battery pack actually is not advisable , due to hot weather etc.

if just dash cam alone to cig socket , it will be no diff from using USB etc.

Well , they used to ignore these things till recently. Till someone went all social media frenzy on them.

Perhaps one option then is to just install a front cam and connect it to the cig socket and forget about cable mgmt and recording while parking 😆

Registered but new.

Only on paper, its used. In reality, its new.

😅👌

I thought most BMWs come with Advanced Eye 1/2 if one able to bargain for it.

There may be a problem if main battery gets drained by car cam on 24 hours recording mode (either no set to cut off at 12.4V or a glitch occurs). PML will not replace with a brand new battery then, citing its 3rd party cam. Iirc from what a friend shared about his experience.

Yada-ing.

Stay safe

Cheers

It’s one of those “new” but registered units. There are so many listings that they are probably brand new and not even ex display units. Only comes with 3yr warranty so went down to PML and paid for warranty topup to 5 yrs and 5 yrs BSI.

Oh, curious how much did you have to pay for the 5yr BSI+warranty?

Been having drivetrain error messages on my Gran Tourer. Had sent car to mechanic but can't seem to resolve issues. Already spent more than $5k and very fed up that issue still persists. Anyone had similar problem and managed to resolve it? Thanks.

Drivetrain errors could be a lot of things...better take it back if under warranty...else bring to a specialist....should be easy to diagnose once plug in..
