I also had Jap for lunch today. Shin Kushiya @ Vivo. Together with Ootoya, these 2 are my go-to Jap comfort restaurants. Not super good, but above decent quality and most importantly, they are pretty consistent. Oh, they also have 1-for-1 beer all the time

My japanese comfort food go-to place is Magosaburo.

That depends on what you term comfort food to be. To me its food that makes me feel good when i am feeling down. Food that delights me.

I can't remember eating Lor Mee until about 6 months ago when our neighbour recommended a stall in Clementi Central just by the traffic lights on Avenue 3.

I was surprised how nice it was and the range of ingredients, garlic and chilli that was included, all for S$4.

 

The sauce/gravy was much thicker than the one shown in your photo.

I wonder if a thick or thin sauce is normal??

 

Clementi Central is a desert for good eating places although there are many.

I'm not really a lor mee person. Tends to be too starchy and rich for the morning.

 

I don't need much gravy. Think this was just nice. The fried shark meat is nice but bit too greasy for bf. Would prefer something non deep fried.
