Crazy ... i watched some documentary on hawkers. The turtle stall owner say turtles getting very expensive now. She say it used to be $5 cost price for 1 turtle 15-20 years ago. She says now its $25 for a turtle. I think that's a major cause. She also say it's getting too expensive for people to eat frequently. Just that it's the only thing she knows how to sell. Btw, there are at least four more clones now...Heng Heng, Maxwell, TianTian Lai...all their signages are of the same colour... Ah Tai’s soup was so good that I drank them all. Rice a tad hard compared to TT but still nice and fragrant enough to have it on its own. It's a great beer snack with the salted ones. But I only drink with friends nowadays.
